upgraded to the GTX 760
« on: September 25, 2015, 05:49:57 PM »
From the 550ti - amazing difference!! It has taken all games Ive thrown at it so far in stride. It's a super cool card too, runs at half the temps the 550ti did.

Great great card. Thanks craigslist :D

It feels good to get 60+ fps without even trying or editing the settings.
I wish that cake was a lie. :(

I guess he never figured out what Willis was saying :/

And I just realized I can still run my secondary monitor off my 550ti in a different PCI slot! My secondary is an older dell 15" which is only VGA unfortunately. Still handy though.

You may want to consider using the 550Ti as a dedicated PhysX card as well. Go into the NVIDIA Control Panel, hop into the "Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX" section, and set it in there. I don't believe you'll be able to use it as a display card, but running both displays off of one card won't slow things down much at all (I'm driving three displays off of my iMac's 680MX--a mobile GPU--and it can easily run several games at 1440p 60fps without a hitch). I'm guessing that the 760 doesn't have a VGA port, but even modern cards generally ship with at least one DVI-I port (which is a DVI port that can carry both analog and digital output). If you don't have an adapter or they didn't ship one in the box, I'm sure I have an extra one that I can send you.

Congrats on the upgrade! That is a joyous moment when a new GPU comes into ones life.
