there's bad news which doesn't bother me and good news which im pretty excited about.
bad- blizzard stopped negotiations with kespa for the starcraft 2 stuff. kespa is the korean esports association, basically they are the backbone of the starcraft broadcasts on tv and whatnot.
good- blizzard is going with
gomtv.
basically that kicks ass. for starcraft 1 english games for the most part, i would watch youtube footage of people doing english commentary (as it's normally commentated in korean), this is fine and dandy. with gom, they do livestreams of the games (i think kespa does this as well) AND they get english commentary for said livestreams. so i can enjoy my pro starcraft (soon to be starcraft 2 with this blizzard deal) games, live, commentated in english, yeah. it's one thing to experience an exciting moment days after it's happened, it's another to experience it as it happens. like flash winning the first gom tournament, that was awesome, and i was there watching it. now flash is like the best starcraft player in the world.
tldr= gomtv is awesome, they have a contract with blizzard letting them do starcraft 2 stuff.
but i recommend checking out some of the gom stuff. you don't even need to be much a fan of playing the game to enjoy it. i mean not everybody who watches "insert sport here" enjoys playing it. i mean i enjoy myself some starcraft, im just so ass at it i would rather watch.
