Didn't I post some Hiromi a while back? I've been a huge fan of her stuff for a long time. Nero's Day at Disneyland is pretty fucking awesome... I think they fall under breakcore, if you feel like putting them in a genre.
This is my favorite track off that album (and basically everything up to Place to Be...)
She is an absolute musical genius, and deserves far more recognition than she has (although she is definitely not an unknown).
She worked with the Stanley Clarke Trio on an album a while ago that contains an amazing cover of the Chili Peppers' track Under the Bridge
Hiromi talks about recording Place to Be:
The title track off that album, my all-time favorite song of hers. First time I heard this song was when someone had uploaded a crappy recording of her playing it live at a show and they didn't know the name of the song. Eventually I found someone had uploaded a duet version she did with Chick Corea for a movie. I tried for a while to track the soundtrack or the movie itself down, but couldn't. Eventually months passed and she finally released the album, and I've been listening to the song in my car whenever I put my CD with that album on, usually more than once.
Other than Hiromi, lately though I've been listening to a lot of complextro
