Okay... so I watched Ice Spiders. After about twenty minutes, I easily decided that it was a great contender for a bad review. But as I continued to watch, I lost track of all the things I could rip apart because of the overwhelming quantity of them. About forty-five minutes in I gave up on thinking of bad things to say about it, and decided it would be MUCH easier to note the things I liked about it, since there were drastically less of those.
For some reason, I liked the main character, Dash. His acting wasn't terrific, but he was funny, and somewhat convincing. Although, compared to most of every other actor in the film, he was brilliant.
Aside from him, I sort of liked the ending. It wasn't insanely clever or climactic, just a lot better than what I was expecting. I won't give it away fully, but it isn't one of those movies where all the monsters are ultimately blown up or shot to pieces. There wasn't an obvious cliffhanger, but there is room for a sequel. That's all I'll say.
If you want to know whether or not to watch it, I say YES. But don't spend any of your money on it, because you will be much more let down. And I only recommend to watch it for comedic value, and probably with a bunch of self-proclaimed film critiques (such as myself) who are ready to laugh hysterically at all the inconsistencies and very obvious amateurish mistakes.
