Worse DDR/ITG2/PIU machine you have played on
« on: April 15, 2008, 10:09:06 PM »
Now I don't know how many of you play or still play these games but just earlier this evening I went to a local bowling alley to play some ITG2.
Talk about a mistake.  My highest score was only a star.  It doesn't help that the I/O board on  the damn thing sucks to no end and the machine is poorly maintained.
(On the brighter side awhile ago I managed to get about 1000 credits by I/O error.  Massive win.)

Now lets hear some of your stories.

I don't care how bad Camelot's machine gets (its problems mainly stem from shoddy input handling...yay ITG), it's never going to be as bad as the SuperNOVA at the Muvico 24 at the Arundel Mills Mall.

Let's just say, the bars are loose enough to almost come out (which almost led to me crushing Sharde -- another member here), and at least one panel is stuck down at all times.

Let's see...

Six Flags Over Texas: Loud, sticky, and loose.
Cruise ship A: Right panel on 1P side didn't register half the time.
Cruise ship B: Was actually so bad I refused to play on it after watching someone else. The down panel on both pads barely registered.
Mall's movie theater: Loose bars and sticky panels.

All of those were DDR machines. The only ITG2 machine I've played is in a mall arcade and is very well-maintained.

The ITG machine at the San Fransico metreon is exceptionally shitty. It never works, the pads never register, and the left and right buttons always trigger for no reason while choosing a song. I've wasted 5 bucks on this piece, and never got my money back.

Upgradicab, I'm guessing?

The input on most ITG2 upgrade cabinets is horribly fucked.  Upgrading the machine to r21/r23 might fix it.

yeah, I think the cabinet might have been upgraded because it was buggy as hell.

Shittiest machines I've ever played on was a DDR Machine at a New Orleans mall. All but the left square and right arrow button were working, and the arrows would hardly ever respond.

And this was BEFORE Katrina. :(
Nice to see another memorable name though.

Well, on the bright side, it's probably been put out of its misery by Mother Nature, that being the case.

If I was allowed to get at the boxxor in the back I could disable the marquee lights on the machine Spectere but I doubt they would like that.

You could always pull a Link and kick the shit out of the machine.

But that would probably get you kicked out.  That said, not really a big deal, all things considered.

and continue to come back to said arcade anyway. rofl

the machines here are... very poorly maintained.  very.  when an arrow's sensors (all of them) are completely unresponsive, we've got a problem.

BUT WHO CARES WE WILL MAKE MORE MONEY OFF BOOZE AND PIZZA ANYWAY :<
