Yep. 26 episodes is 1 full season. Most anime (except for those insanely long running ones, like DBZ, Naruto, Sailor Moon, etc.) are 1 season. Some are even less. Rec is something like 10 10 minute episodes, and there are others (I can't think of any right now).
Sometimes you get ones that are only 13 episodes.

Oh, and there are OVAs, which run anywhere between 1 and 5 or 6 (I haven't heard of/watched anything with more than 5, and that was the Ah! My Goddess OVAs).
This is going in my sig. :)

i was considering getting a (get ready for adjectives) japanese rising sun flag belt buckle. maybe since ive been such a fucking with the adicts lately i'll just get one from them. But regardless, that design is so fucking cool.

i'll share a little more weeaboo in here.

I've always thought that design was really well made. It's simple, recognizable, and pleasant to look at.

So I just watched episode 12 of Darker then Black. What the FUCK just happened? *SPOILER*That was so much at one time it hurt, did that scientist die? Was that his sister who protected him? If so, is she dead? Just tell me if this gets answered.

"...it is reported that [Leonardo] DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing the lead roles of Kaneda and Tetsuo, respectively."

please fucking shoot me

now

edit: but hey i guess it's going to try to cover the entire manga instead of a shortened second half of the manga (like the anime movie)

Oh wow, well, that might be interesting. Also what is this trend of making old animes into live action films.

to me it seems like it's more of a trend of manga adaptations to live action film (the new Akira adaptation is of the original manga; dunno about the DB adaptation, could be manga or anime, but sounds like it's going to raep the DB story so it doesn't matter much anyway; are there any other adaptations that are being made?) -- it looks like there may be an american adaptation of Battle Royale one of these days, although I dunno if it's based on the book or the manga; the main difference being that the manga had a different instructor, and had MUCH more character development.

Well, the japanese have been turning anime into live action for a while (Sailor Moon, Prince of Tennis and Death Note all have japanese live action versions, among many others). It's becoming a bit of a trend here, now that more oriental movies are being accepted in western culture, and anime is becoming more and more popular.
This is going in my sig. :)

it's awesome. imagine if they did old games over again with current gen capabilities changing everything but leaving the exact same story, etc. IIRC there's a project out there that does that with Goldeneye 64, and you can play it on your computer also with online multiplayer.

They are, but it's mostly the MOD community. Take black mesa source, for instance.

Also, I've almost finished Berserk. I wish I had earlier, it's getting rather interesting.

Also also we need another thread like this, for engrish shows.

So someone in my hall has a 1 TB external full of anime, and I went through and picked out the following that I haven't seen:

Kanon
Galaxy Angel
Gatekeeper
Gunslinger Girl
Planetes
Puni Puni Poemy (seen Excel Saga)
Welcome to the NHK
Berserk
Chobits (read the manga)
Elfen Lied
Full Metal Panic
High School Girls
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Lucky Star
Pita Ten (read some of the manga)
Trigun (seen the first few episodes)
Vandread

Opinions?

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}
