I stopped playing online for one reason: LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG.

It's gotten A LOT better then how it used to be, plus when you get a good FFA/ team battle going it will usually last for a while. Also almost every 1 on 1 battle I have ends out fine.

I'm sure the framerate is better, but I'm sure the controls are still less responsive, which is what I was talking about.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

Yeah, that would turn me off of online play REALLY quickly. I absolutely cannot stand lag at all. Partly because of my sensitivity to it. After playing Stepmania for as long as I have, I've come to be able to tell VERY small amounts of input lag.

Plus, if you're playing fairly competitively, or at a fairly high skill level, even small amounts of lag can be the difference between dieing and surviving.

Input response is much better then what it used to be. I remember playing a 1 on 1 with a friend and having a literal half second, now when I have a 4 person free for all their's hardly ANY input lag.

So I was making a Gummi ship in KH2 today when I realized that the Gummi editor in KH2 is easier to use than the SSBB stage editor despite having about 10 times as many parts and another dimension. What.

I mean, in Nintendo's defense, the PS2 controller has 5 more buttons than the Gamecube controller and they had to make the editor usable with the nunchuckless Wii remote, but that doesn't mean that the Gamecube controller should be just as useless as the Wii remote when it comes to making stages.

Oh yeah, this thread.

I played SSBB for the first time a few weeks ago. I must say I was a little let down. I used the gamecube controller so it was at least familiar (I've only played on a Wii once before) but otherwise, there was nothing that stood out as a kickass new addition to me. I even played on a 53" flatscreen with a few good friends, too :|

I'll have to give it another shot to come to a better conclusion, though.

I'm not sure. I think I was just expecting a lot more. Obviously I didn't get the full experience since I only played multiplayer. I'm not saying it's not better than Melee, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

Single player isn't much. SSE is pretty fun, but I'd rather fight CPUs than play SSE. At least it's a quick way to unlock all the characters if you skip the cutscenes. The events now have 3 difficulties. The home-run contest has a glass wall that shatters if it gets hit too much, making it easier to stack damage. Multi-Man Melee Brawl, Classic, and All Star modes are pretty much the same except with smarter CPUs. There are only 5 target test stages, 4 of which have to be unlocked by playing through Classic on higher difficulties, though cunt-in-yous don't matter. There's a Boss Battle mode that gets unlocked after beating SSE in which you fight all of the SSE bosses and both hands All-star style (damage retains between battles but there are 3 chances to restore it), which is all right, I guess.

I'll occasionally play though All-Star mode, but other than that, I fight random Level-9s on random stages if I play alone.

Same, but playing another human is still the most fun, that's why I'm glad it has online, even if it's gimped to all hell.

Funny SSB video:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=O-7gmds2njg

Somewhat related:

I'm getting an oral surgery tomorrow, and some teeth deep in my gums will be taken out.  I had a meeting with the doctor a while back, and for a week or two after the surgery, and he broke it down like this:

No Solids
No Straws
Milkshakes Only
FINAL DESTINATION!!!!!!!!!!

Well, not really, but that would have been cool :o

That video was pretty good up until the person said "wtf," which ruined the whole thing for me.

Sorry but I've been around too many people who've adopted internet acronyms into their vocabulary to find it funny anymore :|

I'm seriously disgusted at the amount of times FD gets picked on FFA game in SSBB. It's like there is a mass amount of shitty tourney players out there who thinks it's awesome to pick hat shitty stage over and over.
