I'm restarting this project except it's going to be a Dark Ambient/Drone Metal thing.

More news as it comes.

How are you producing the music?

Oh, and nice name, Fields of Snow is a cool name for an ambient etc. sound.

Oh, and I finally downloaded that song you uploaded. Dude, what's with the chinese or whatever it is? (the tags are all messed up.)

Producing with Fruityloops, thanks, and I have no idea what's with the tags.  I just used Foobar2000 to fill them out....  Also, I'm not really all too happy with the way that one song I uploaded came out.

Uploading a new song, "Voices" to the MySpace, so check it out...

Media Player Classic sometimes reads the tags wrong and they come out, uh...quite badly.  Dunno why.

Ahh, well, since then I switched back to winamp. I'll check it out in winamp. Haha, half the music I listen to keeps reporting it's bitrate to WMP9 wrong, resulting in "bitrates" of like, 450-500 kb/s and songs that are much longer than WMP thinks.

Voices:
Add some minimal percussion maybe.. Stretch them out a bit more, and change up the instrumentation too, and you could have some awesome stuff here (it's pretty cool as it is, but adding doing some of that would likely make it more interesting.)

Try listening to more ambient to get a feel for how they write the stuff. Ambient songs are based on the idea of slow progression, and eventual buildup. They don't usually get too much louder overall, but things change, become a little more complex, or change instrumentation slowly, that sort of thing.

I really like Viel Of The Light, I'd only listened to voices when I wrote that first part. I like how it seems sorta complex, yet very simple at the same time.

That would work, also Viel of light isn't bad at all.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement, I'll get right on fixing Voices.  I'll also check out more Ambient bands, I really only listen to 4 or so bands. :/

If you're looking for some ideas you can go listen to di.fm's ambient channel. You'll get exposure to lots of different names and styles.

And you don't need to fix it necessarily, I was just saying what i would have done with it. I can't stand ambient when it's too ambient. If I'm looking for something like that, I'll listen to some Merzbow.

Some of Combichrists songs are decent ambient. Wreckage for one, one of the few ambient songs I listen too.

Hey I wrote a goregrind/speedcore song.  I've been planning on doing goregrind for a long while, but never had any equipment to record anything.  I still don't, and made this in FL Studio.  It's going to be better once I get around to getting some equipment.

Well, since you (presumably) use the drum to create tones by playing them so quickly, then it would fit under the category of Extratone. Extratone was a name someone in the speedcore scene called music that was designed to use drum machines at speeds that would cause the drum sample to sound like a tone instead of individual hits. Usually around 1000 BPM. He found the exact speeds on a number of machines and made a pretty technical writeup about it.
