Well, I began on C++, so I know what it's like. You just have to be able to understand the ideas of what a class is, and how it works. And when you should use one, and what you should use one for, and such. Because that stuff tends to come easily to me, learning classes, inheritance and such was easy. Of course, after learning C++, Java is a breeze, you just learn to HATE writing GUIs in it.

PS: I also have worked with VB, C#, Java, Some Perl and PHP, Turing, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

lol, nice. I Most people don't read entire books there anyway, most people browse the book, decide whether or not to buy, and buy it anyway. It takes a lot to keep coming back and reading the book without bothering to buy it. Though I'm sure I'd be surpriised how many people do read the books in the store, lol.

Well the thing is, we are already trained with the monitor lag in mind, so we perceive no difference because the ideal place for us to begin pushing the button is determined by playing, not by watching it go to the right spot, we use our ears, so we can hear when to hit it, and use the screen as a visual guide as to which button to press, or at least, that's how I work (I do need to read it though, visual is a large part of it for me). I do notice some difference between monitors, but very little, and it's easy enough to deal with.

Essentially, that 17 ms is pretty much transparent to us in reality. And if we're talking about random lags that add up, there's the time it takes for our fingers to move from the starting position down until the key triggers, the time it takes for the signal to enter the computer, the time it takes the computer to process the fact that the keyboard was just pressed, and the time it takes to figure out whether you hit at the right time or not. In reality, we're probably pressing the note a considerable time before it is actually processed on the screen.

Exactly, while their gig is over-the-top, I actually like their music. But nonetheless, I hear they pull off a kick-ass show, and I'd like to see. Apparently it's a very bad idea to wear clothes you actually care about, since fake blood is like everywhere and shit. :D

My bro brought a white shirt home from one of the shows they played here. It looked like it was tie died. Blu and pinkish, and some green.
H hasn't washed it because it was signed by some bands, namely The Number Twelve Looks Like You, who totally kick ass.

We largely encourage it. Having you sit in the cafe to use the wireless means you'll probably buy food or a drink at some point.

Lol, the joys of large bookstores. The local Coles is way too small for a in house coffee house :/

I've started learning C++ via bringing my laptop to the bookstore, getting one of the books that teaches C++, and reading it in-store. I wonder how long I'll be able to do this.

It may take a while unless you have some experience programming before. C++ is not really beginner friendly. Though I can lend a hand with explaining some stuff, or showing you how to use some code. I can't guarantee it'll be well coded, but it should usually work.

Honestly, if someone asked about that, I'd just spam google.com. It's not worth it to even bother trying to fuck with those people.

See, most people do look at all those issues, and still have children. I mean hell, is it very pleasant the entire time of the pregnancy? Is giving birth fun? Fuck no, why the hell do you think they give lots of people Epidurals? I see it as the single only thing that I should ever achieve in my life. The single only true expectation for any human being. I mean, in the bigger picture, life is worth nothing if you don't contribute to the future of your race. Is any one single squirrel worth anything? No, but if it has a kid, then the race can continue, and that's what's important really.

Sure, we can debate this till the end of time whether humans have any reason aside from reproduction, but if you look at how every animal is programmed, even humans, the only things that we really do are live, and have children, the rest of it is meaningless crap. Sure, we shape the earth, but will that matter 10 000 000 years from now? Not unless the human race is still alive in one form or another.

Sure, I'll be dead in 10 000 000 years, but maybe by then the human race will have progressed from this dark time in the earth's history, where we abuse the planet and refuse to acknowledge the damage we're doing. But by that time, we'll have passed this time, and gone beyond where we are now. I'd say whether I'm dead or not, I'd rather that than humanity not existing past 2100 and the world erasing nearly all signs that we ever lived here.

Oh, and spec, I suggest you split this into a different topic.

But the whole thing is that even though GWAR is over dramatized, their music is actually good. And tenacious D is really funny, regardless of music. I watch the movies, videos, and concert footage, but I don't listen to the CDs.

GWAR is win, their music has a lot of skill, and songs like Womb With A View have the most amazing lyrics ever.

Another of those "I'm not having kids" people? I never understand why you people do that. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, the only thing that humans are even supposed to is reproduce.
