s.net's default theme is now Dilber MC. If you don't care for lilac you can select the color on the user bar at the top (it should save -- let me know if it doesn't and I...probably won't be able to do much about it but we'll see). All of the other themes are also available if you don't like this one.
Hope you guys like. :)

I was like WHOA WTF at first but this is kinda cool, I think I'll play around with the culorz a bit :)
-
Indeed. :) I thought it was pretty attractive. Some parts could use a slightly higher contrast (at least on the lilac theme) but it's not a big deal.
I'm checking out the other colors now, hehe.
-
Interesting. I'm not much of a fan of the rather large image at the top. The nav bar is kinda big vertically (image + Home, Help etc.) I'll get used to it.. Or switch back.
-
i like it.
-
It's not bad, I may yet switch back to the old one, but I do like being able to chose colours, even if there isn't much of a selection. (some of the colours available look like crap.)
-
When I get unlazy I'll probably change the image to something custom; the globe does take up a lot of space and looks very cookie cutter-ish (this coming from the person who never bothered to change the logo on the default theme...heh). The nav bar won't be as big of a deal if the banner gets shrunk, methinks.
And, of course, there's always the option to go back to ye olde style. :) I don't intend to delete themes as I install new ones unless literally nobody is using them (like the fugly YaBB theme and Babylon...nobody was using those).
-
Which means that you don't even need to announce anything you delete, lol.
-
Indeed. ;D It makes things a lot quicker, too, given that the "await input" stage is completely scrapped.

nice

YAY!

I can't decide if I like this theme or the SMF default more. I'll have to stick with it for a little while before making a decision.
-
old as fuck topic but
i don't think there's an smf theme that doesn't look like ass
i mean god look at that fucking logo that looks like fucking wordart right there and the whole top bar is way too goddamn big. the whole thing is way too shiny and, well, there's gradients. fuck gradients. i hate gradients.
fuck it i'm making my own theme with mspaint and basic css knowledge
i mean jesus christ look at that fucking logo it's so fucking huge and gaudy and
THAT LOGO
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
-
Are you running 640x480? Jesus, it's not that big unless you're using some absurdly low resolution, and if that's the case, too bad, nobody cares about low resolution users any more, or at least, no web designer who understands the standard resolution sizes now.
-
Nope, full on 1680x1050.
so far i've got this (http://xs123.xs.to/xs123/08026/dontworryguysifixedit521.png) (also, the link color isn't very distinct. maybe an underline would help set it apart?)
-
Man, 1680 is even bigger than my screen, and I don't have any space issues with that...
I like the link color.
-
and the whole top bar is way too goddamn big.
Please tell me you're not referring to the one that you can easily collapse...
What you have looks pretty good so far. If you can get it into an actual SMF theme I'll install it on here for vertically challenged users (I'd love to have a theme that's better suited for PSP browsing and such).

This doesn't even need a new theme, just mod the old one.
.mainstrip {color:black !important;}
.mainstrip a:link {color:black !important;}.mainstrip a:visited {color:black !important;}
.mainstrip a:hover {color:black !important;}
.mainstrip a:active {color:black !important;}
.topbar {display:none !important}
.titlebg3 {display:none !important}
.memberbardiv {display:none !important}
#upshrink {display:none !important}
.topbar2 {display:none !important}
.menubar {margin-top: 10px !important; }
Get rid of all the "!important"s unless something isn't overriding previous settings.
Adblock list-

Delete all of those.
New post icons, as the old ones have gradient backgrounds.
Move the color bar from what was the member bar (the collapsible one) to wherever.
Find a place for a logo.
Result is something like-

A few more ideas: you might have to update all of the different color styles, so you might as well just make one scheme everyone can agree on. Depends on how partial people are to their colors, I guess.
-
That's the thing...have you ever tried modifying an SMF theme? :P It makes me go a little cross-eyed.
As far as I can tell, the color schemes in Dilber MC have plenty of common elements to them so it wouldn't be a huge project to convert all of the colors and such over.
If it's too involving it probably won't get done for quite a while, though. I've had some pretty bizarre hours as of late and I've been cherishing every bit of free time I could get. If it's not much work (and the theme's license allows it) I'll probably make a "Dilber MC (Light)" theme or something like that.
Also, if you (or anyone else) see a nice-looking theme on SMF's site, feel free to pass me the link. I wouldn't mind having a lighter-weight theme or two on here for space-conscious people or devices.
-
Yeah, I can understand a theme for mobile devices with small screens, but I mean, that image on the top (the SMF symbol etc.) doesn't take that much screen space... 120 px on a screen that's 900 px tall (or taller in some cases.. actually, many cases)...
