hey. share it. it's not gay or homosex. at all. for those of you that have a trendier sense of style like myself, this would be the best place for you. for others that like other things like cool cosplay, hey, your cup of tea could be served here too.
let's start.
i fucking love the stores urban outfitters and H&M. i try to scrape whatever i can from the nordstrom rack.
i also own a pair of true religion jeans. fuck you guys that dislike expensive brandname jeans, i got it for mega cheap, supersale at nordstrom rack. and for those bitches that are like EW OMG $100+ FOR A PAIR OF JEANS, they not only make you look older, but more intelligent, better to ladies, and feel fucking fantastic. other than that, my jeans are basically just Levi's.
uh, i have this weird ability to tell what most jeans are by their back pockets. i feel really weird/autistic for knowing that.
also, fuck the buckle store.
-
you know what i wear
a white fucking t shirt
you know what else?
a pair of fucking jeans

There is no point to following fashion. Especially if you live in Minnesota.

whoa there's nothing wrong with wearing clothes that didn't dent the pocket. that's all i do, is scavenge wherever i can to buy the best styles for cheapest. i have many shirts from target too y'know. i just happen to own a pair of really nice jeans and it bothers me when people comment about how expensive they are.
-
I would say about 90% of my clothes come from thrift stores, and then 9% were given as gifts or found in other places. I haven't bought clothes from a retail store since I was basically forced to by some "nice" shirts when I started my job (the remaining 1%). And since it's been like this for so long, paying any more than $5-7 for a shirt or more than $10 for pants seems ridiculous.
I'm not a trend-following type of person but I do care about how I dress as much as anyone. Unfortunately, people can't see someone's personality as clearly as they can their clothes. What someone decides to display on their bodies when they are well aware that people will be seeing them can tell you something about them. I'm not advocating judging a book only by its cover, but unlike books, people don't have a preface or a synopsis on the back page to read to get to know them. And no, Facebook/MySpace don't count. Being judged -at least a little bit- by appearance is inevitable because nearly all animals have been doing it to survive since animals started having eyes. Although how people dress doesn't necessarily affect our survival these days, it can still give you a glimpse into their minds.
Personally, I like simple, repetitive patterns on my shirts like stripes, plaid, etc. For pants, I prefer baggy-ish cargo pants with lots of pockets. I like pockets :D For shoes, I don't know the types but as long as it fits comfortably and looks nice I'm fine. As for my color scheme, it's mostly earthy colors like green, brown, gray and black, but with a dash of desaturated color somewhere in there. I prefer not to wear logos because I think they look bad and since I'm not getting paid to advertise for a company I don't really support anyway, I might as well not. Boxer-briefs because: 1) They are the best of both worlds, and 2) They're super sexy. As for accessories, I don't get very extravagant. I have a hemp necklace, a hemp bracelet I made, another bracelet my mom made me and a couple random rings.
I love seeing different ways people dress, which is why I love living where I do, in Portland, Oregon. Anyone who's been here can get what I'm saying. You wouldn't really think twice seeing someone walking down the sidewalk in a suit of armor, which has happened at least once that I know of. What I love most about style though, is the diversity of it, and how much and how quickly it changes. People can get pretty damn creative.

I always pictured you [sq3r] as one of those trendier kids that can actually pull the style off. Being frank with myself, I'm fat, so I have to stick to the slim fit and not the skinny jeans. But that's just something I've always pictured you in o__O.
I've always kinda wanted to sport the steampunk look. Minus the goldenware and metal stuff, but the idea that it's the classic nice shirt, slim pants, dress shoes combo, with an added sweet looking shiny vest to kick it off. Also, I'm saving up for something BAPE. I want something from there SOO badly, it's just too bad a dumb shirt costs fucking $70+.
Also, my foreign exchange student, who is a GUY, bought some Ugg boots. How many people disagree with a guy wearing these?
also, porn

Well I used to be heavier in high school and that definitely affected what I was comfortable wearing. I was actually part of the outcasts in high school and was one of those people who tried covering up their weight insecurities with crazy outfits. I used to wear a black hooded sweatshirt with a crazy tie, two different kinds of shoes, a pair of yellow sunglasses over my normal glasses, and of course a purple graduation robe. I wore an overcoat for a while, too. And I did get teased about being in the "trenchcoat mafia" haha. Fucking high school bullshit.
But once I lost some weight it expanded how much I could comfortably wear by a shitload. I've never had that vast of a wardrobe but it was nice to not HAVE to wear baggy clothes to feel somewhat secure. I'm not saying I'm completely free of my insecurities, because I still feel limited in what I can get away with. If I had the body I want, I'd be wearing maybe slightly tighter clothes, but definitely fewer layers. Otherwise my style won't change too much.

I will so edit this post into a legitimate reply, since I actually kind of try to look nice too, but I've got some friends en-route, and don't have time to write anything right now. :<

Also the shit is going to last you years and will be much more comfortable after a while then shit Rock and Republic or whatever.
HI STEVE HOW HAVE YOU BEEN
-
Denim is highly overrated.
Also I generally try and wear matching clothes more now a days (wore a pretty ballin pair of baggy khaki pants and a darkish green shirt with a really faded design on it) but other then that I usually just wear various graphic shirts and cargo pants.
I would wear my black dickie pants, but I'm scrawny as hell and it makes the fact that I have no ass even more apparent. Plus temperature wise it sucks.
-
I almost exclusively wear jeans, lol. Even during the summer.
I just don't like other pants. Plus jeans are quite a bit more durable than most other types of pants anyway.
But yeah, I generally just wear plain or simple graphic shirts and I like zip up hoodie sweaters.
-
I would wear jeans more (like the ones flesy posted) but it's hard to find a pair at a thrift store that meet my standards. And I just don't feel like paying $20+ for a single pair of denim pants.
Does anyone here dye their hair on a regular basis? I've never been happy with my natural hair color (dark brown) so I usually get the black or brown/black dye. I've only ever dyed my hair natural colors but if I were going to get a little zany with it I'd probably do something with black and white.
-
I dye my hair somewhat often. Though I don't use permanent dye. I typically go with red or purple, but I've tried blue and green. Neither of which really showed up. Not much of a surprise, considering I didn't bleach my hair prior.
-
I like seeing people with crazy colors in their hair. Sometimes people just look ridiculous, but when they can pull it off I think it looks hawtt.
-
Heh, yeah, someone at my college came in one day with crazy-ass bright pink hair with a couple purple spots, and it looked amazing.
-
and then it fades to an ugly ass faded color in 3 days and they end up looking like a bigger scrub
Bright hair colors are stupid.
-
Your butt is stupid! :D
-
Upon retrospect, I came to the conclusion that I don't have quite as much to say on this topic as I thought I did. But I will say, flannel shirts are p awesome.

Have you been to Standard Style Boutique at town center? They've got Nudies and I think Evisus in raw. Nudies is totally not worth the price though, they're kind of low quality. There's also a new line of jeans by the owners called Baldwin, I haven't checked them out yet but they seem like they could be good.
