I upgraded the forum to SMF 2.0 in hopes that it would alleviate the spam problem a bit.
Well, if nothing else, the new skin is shiny!
Edit: I also added a few custom fields to the profile page, namely ones for Xbox Live Gamertags, PSN IDs, and Wii friend codes. I'll probably add more later (i.e. b.net, Steam, that sort of stuff).

Not sure if I like this, but the resolution seems a bit better.
Also new emoticons OOOOOOOOH BOY.

I wasn't going to post, then I saw this:
Also new emoticons OOOOOOOOH BOY.
and I was like OH SHIT...too bad they still suck
-
I like the look Spec.

Cool, I guess 8)
I don't like the new emoticons as much tho

Well then, make a new set and I'll add it to the site.

It took me a little while to adapt to it (probably because this site was using the SMF 1.1 look for so long), but I like it a lot better now. The default template looks more modern and far cleaner than the other one, in my exceedingly unhumble opinion.
You guys can't see it, but the administration panel is waaaaaayyyy better than the old one. SMF 1.1 was a bit better than SMF 1.0, but SMF 2.0 kills both of them.
Edit2: Best of all: there haven't been any spam bot registrations since I performed the upgrade. Before I upgraded there were literally a full page of spambot members per day on the member list.
*knocks on wood*
Edit3: Almost forgot! There is no longer a CAPTCHA. Now you have to solve two (of six) basic algebra problems to become a member. I hope that works for a while, at least...

Just force people to integrate :P That would keep bots away, lol.
-
Thank god I'm already registered, because Algebra is not my main game.
-
"Quick; delete his account!"
-
I hate this so, SO much, I'm going to create a Facebook group about it! Mwahaha!

It's really simple stuff, like "If 2 + x = 6, what is x?"
Edit: Here's a list of the current questions:
- If 4 + x = 5, what is x?
- If 2 * x = 8, what is x?
- If 6 - x = 1, what is x?
- If x - 3 = 7, what is x?
- If x / 2 = 4, what is x?
- If 2 + x = 11, what is x?
-
hahahahahahahahaha that's the greatest thing ever

Oh man, even without a CAPTCHA the number of spam registrations has plummeted. I lurve it.
I dub thee, MATHCHA! Now I'm going to strut around like I'm the first person to think of that idea.
