Title: Heat sink class 101
Post by: OmegaOmni on April 13, 2012, 08:21:00 PM
So I just got my desktop from home (yay :D) but the heat sink got loose and came off and now there is a bunch of old thermal paste on the base of it and my processor.

I know I need more thermal paste but do I need to clean off the old stuff first and how do I go about doing that? (ie using like isopropyl alohchol to clean it off?)

Isopropyl alcohol is generally accepted as the usual. Some people say Acetone.
