Title: NieR: Automata
Post by: Spectere on November 26, 2017, 12:48:35 AM
Finally started playing this one. I'm about 3.5 hours in and...yeah. It's definitely a treat so far.

Anyone else play through this?

I honestly don't have much to contribute, game looks fine but I haven't been in the mood for it personally...however what I do know is...

I have heard good things though.

As soon as you're in the mood for some nice brawling I'd definitely give it a shot! Melee combat feels freaking great. Not too crazy about ranged combat, but thankfully you can address most issues up close and personal.

I'm really not sure exactly where the story's going so far (it's a NieR game, so that's to be expected) but what I've seen so far has been intriguing as hell.

I ended up setting this down for a little bit and then playing the everloving shit out of it this weekend (27 hours from Saturday to Monday. Yikes).

Hoooooly shit, this game. I can't really say anything without spoiling it, but I can say that it's at least a bit more optimistic than its predecessors.

Nier: Automata is probably the best game ever made imho tbqh

I still need to replay it and pick up all of the joke endings I missed though

Yessss, my next step is going through the joke endings. I ended up getting G by accident when I started my second play through and proceeded to laugh my ass off. So far I have ABCDEGPW.

Definitely agreed on the game's quality. It's one of those games where I went in with high expectations and was still incredibly impressed. About the only complaint that I have is that some of the in-game cutscenes are really wonky on PC (I know they're locked to 30fps, but they appear very stuttery for some reason. Apparently it's a pretty common issue).
