Not too much to say, I guess, but I am actually bookmarking this now so I remember to visit it.
@Spec: Mind changing my name on here to "Vyhd"? Also, warn me the next time you're coming up to Ohio and we'll talk NPCH or something more awesome. Also, happy birthday. You're officially as old as my sister. :)

EDIT: The avatar/title make more sense if you've seen Death Note and AMV Hell 4, respectively. :) Good anime series, and I highly recommend looking into it.

My GF's MSN display pic was that for a while... I know of Death Note (She found it just after the first scanlations came out), and AMV Hell 4 used WAY too much death Note. Honestly, it seemed like every 4th clip used it. I got tired of that really quickly.

Also, thanks for the name change. This is my standard online name now, so it seemed more sensible to use that. :)

True, but Death Note is a new anime, so it's kind of expected. Can't say I mind too much either, since most of them were really good. (The one I'm referencing is one of my favourites from the thing, heh)

Pet project. Cross-platform code for StepMania 3.95. I have literally one more function to implement (SCREENMAN->OverlayMessage) and one to fix (banner loading) and it's done. :) Naturally, once I get a guy to compile it, I'll post it around here.

Hmm, that's actually pretty cool.
And I'll elaborate a bit:
The part that bugged me most about the use of Death Note in AMV Hell 4 was just the amount of times it was used. Period. I actually kinda like the show, from the bit I've seen (Dubbed, at that, and not a bad dub, surprisingly), but jesus. I've seen most of those clips before more than once, and after the first couple times they played those segments, it just started to grate on me.

AMV Hell 3 used Azumanga Daioh like every fourth clip. If you've watched them all, you shouldn't be surprised that they decided to ridiculously over-use a particular show.

Yeah, but they also used some more obscure clips, and some really interested combinations (happy birthday anyone?), nearly everything they used with Death Note was predictable, and seemed to disrupt the flow for me. I'm not entirely sure of all the reasons I didn't like it, but I definitely thought that it was not as good as 3 was. Hell, 4 would have been better if they used Lucky Star as often as they used Death Note, and Lucky Star (as funny as it is) is probably more over used than Death Note even is, as far as AMVs are concerned.
