Computing / video output troubles.

I've had this problem for a short while now (I think it's happened like 3 times total, but it's been consistent enough to worry me). I'll be in the middle of a game, and then suddenly I will lose all video output and my screen will give me the message "no video output detected" and then go into standby. I hit my power button, which should go through the processes of turning my PC off, but that won't work, so I'm assuming it's not JUST my graphics card. I've also had texture issues while playing TF2 and SF4 (a giant, 2D sprite will fill the screen, in SF4 is was Abel's skin texture). So, are these signs my card is dying? The screen going black has only started recently, and the texture problems have only happened twice and within a rather large time slot.

Alright then, since I'm running out of ideas I'm making a thread. My most recent work on my machine was taking apart every little piece, dusting them (even under the CPU) and then putting them back, and I'm still getting the same problem. The last bit of advice that I haven't followed is to switch back to the old CPU fan and then slap everything back together, but would this even really change anything?
Also I'm semi scared my CPU might be burned, but it was working fine before I switched fans (but it was running hot for a while).

but yeah, if you've seen a movie that recently came out/went under the radar and feel that it's worth a watch give a description about it OR if you're looking for a recommendation then ask away.
I was sort of trying to build a list of movies to watch, and I've got Citizen Kain (OMGBESTMOVIEEVAR), Jin Roh, the Hurt Locker, Guyver: Dark Hero, Old Boy, and probably a few others I just can't remember.
So? Any thoughts on these?

Well, I suppose I'll do this as informal as possible. So far Microsoft has made their announcements and what seemed to be the highlights were the MGS: Rising, Halo ODST, and Crackdown 2.

I was wondering, do you have a sensitive gaming ego? I'm not talking about proving your worth to some retarded shit talking kid on the internet (but it's always fun to bruise their sensitive ego or cause them to rage) but do you honestly care if you're better then someone at a game?
Me and a friend have always had this friendly rivalry. He used to play Halo a lot but he moved on to CoD WaW, and when he started playing that he thought that sniping in that game was hard. Hell, me and him got into a mid range sniper only fight and I hit him about 5 to 6 times (fucking regenerating health) until I finally killed him and he never hit me once, and I fucking SUCK at console shooters. He even bitched about his shots not hitting the middle of his sniper scope when he was walking around with his rifles trying to shoot me.
The only thing that annoys me is he bitches about shit that he has NO RIGHT to bitch about. Tonight he was constantly bitching about not being able to shield fast enough in smash 64 and the fact that the game was missing a lot of features from brawl. Also when he played guilty gear he was bitching and saying the fact that the enemy can combo him was complete bullshit.
Thing is, he honestly thinks he's better then me at most games and it's starting to piss me off. Not to mention if he wants to face me in a game to prove this I KNOW that he'll pick a console FPS.

I've been having this problem while playing TF2 and games in general. I'll run the game normally for a while, then out of nowhere I get these texture issues and the screen will become one big sprite and all of the games menus become unreadable and unusable. The same will happen with FO3 when I try to start it (only happened twice now, and decently far apart). So I have a question, could this just be an issue with my drivers or something bigger, also I'm not exactly sure how to update my drivers other than the mass amount of driver searchers that I'd rather not deal with.

I've been thinking about how much bullshit there is for the current console generation, so I figured we might as well debate more pointless time wasting bullshit about past video games, because this is the internet.
So let me start,
Atari Generation: LOLWAT
NES, Jaguar (?): NES, no real explanation necessary.
SNES, Genesis: I was more of a Sega fan, but I suppose I'd say SNES won. It rode on the success of the NES.
N64, Dreamcast, Playstation: I suppose we can agree that the Dreamcast bombed. The N64 and Playstation were both great, and I suppose I'd slightly put the Playstation ahead of the N64, just due to it having a massive variety of games and a lot of great games that are basically cult classics.
PS2, xbox, GNC: PS2, by a long fucking shot. Game cube and xbox were both pretty weak, but each had a few good games.
