Computing / Heat sink class 101

So I just got my desktop from home (yay 
) but the heat sink got loose and came off and now there is a bunch of old thermal paste on the base of it and my processor.
I know I need more thermal paste but do I need to clean off the old stuff first and how do I go about doing that? (ie using like isopropyl alohchol to clean it off?)

So yeah I upgraded from my Sony Ericson w760a to an iPhone 3gs and wanted to make some custom SMS tones for it but saw that you have to jailbreak it.
Is this only way to do so and if so does this void the warrenty on it?

Okay I need some help with this one folks.
The wifi here on base at the dorms SUCKS complete donkey dick. Like I lag when I play games or it take an hour to download a game like Half-Life when I am connected to the wifi at 36GB+ on wireless. Yes there are others using it, however, when weekends come around its still the same case. It doesn't help that it cost $50 a month for shitty wifi and you cannot get a wired connection.

So I have been watching alot of zombie movies this past weekend and it made me wonder if a zombie apocalypse would happen which one would you like to try to survive through?
I know it is silly but the fact that there is nut jobs out there who do experiments with various biohazard materials really has me wondering: Is it possible?
Fun Facts: Virus contains either RNA or DNA making it a very effective plague thus killing humans very effectively. When the virus is "dead" in the human body it is never really dies in the first place. It lies dormant ie I had chicken pox as a kid and I can still get it as an adult. With the point that virus can potential evolve into something more dangerous due to it contains RNA and DNA ie (sorry being a bit selfish here) Chicken pox is a form of Herpes Simplex which in turn I get shingles and can get other things such as fever blisters and cold sores.
Now you can discuss what you want about the subject including the monsters from any zombie movie you have seen including the video game ones.
Now go for it!

Computing / Compressing AVI files from Fraps

Hey snet.
I have started using Fraps to record my playings of TF2, L4D2, and oITG and I am unable to get the recordings to a point where it takes less then 10 minutes to upload file on youtube (I have a very slow upload speed...fuck you ohio).
I have been digging around for compressors to try to reduce the size of the files and been messing with my in game graphics and the FPS record option on Fraps...still the smallest file I have is an AVI file that is 650 megs >.<. It doesn't help that some of the compresser/converters cost money to use (I can solve this using torrents)
Anyone got an idea or suggestion?
Please, no debate guys. I just to know what you use and the pro/cons of the program I need and which would work for my needs. Thanks!

SO I finally got everything set up for WoW and when I try to get on battle.net it tell me some bull shit about me having either corrupt files, missing patches, or server downtime. Well I checked if my computer had any virus. I have none. I have the newest patch...so could it be the servers or what could it be?

I recently got my hard drive that I bought this past saturday and I had a copy of tiny xp given to me by a friend. Well I have it on but I have no sound drivers or drivers to get my ethernet connection going and I am not to sure if I can use a linux distro to get it nor I do not know what drivers I need for the prior sentence...halp?

I just recently bought and obtained a GeForce 7600 and managed to plug into slot and got the latest drivers for it. However, when I try to start a game ie TF2 I can get sound but no video. So I tried OITG and I am only getting 1 FPS. I have no idea what is going on, halp me please.

Gaming / Chrono Trigger for DS

I just recently finished up Chrono Trigger for the DS and here are my thoughts and opinion about it:
Cons:
I like getting the nitty gritty stuff out of the way first so the pro side of things makes it better.
Item Name Changes
Not really a big deal but just you know just nit picking really. For example "Tonics" are no longer called that but no are called by their FF counter parts "Potions". Another item rename: Revives are now called Athenean Waters. The various tabs are now called capsels...DBZ much?
Element and Magic Name Changes
So remember how Chrono used to be lightning elemental...guess what now he some how became Holy elemental.
Various magic names have been changed here are a few examples:
Chrono:
Confusion->Frenzie
Life-> Raise
Marle:
Life 2-> Arise
Robo:
Uzzi Punch->Rapid Fire Fist
Pro:
There are a shit ton of good things about this remake. I will give you a basic idea.
Mind you it is the same old game with new things added.
Beastiary
Ever wonder what Lavos's various forms HP was? Well guess what they added it so if you play again through New Game Plus you now know. (Also helps with charming items as well considering I have 10 gold studs...talk about spamming Ayla's charm tech
)
Arena of the Ages
A new little mini-game where you can raise monsters and battle them with other people with a DS. They have decent Equipment and Items but it is really doesn't matter if you are at the Black Omen and have the best equipment in the game.
New Dungeon
I have not beat it yet so I will edit when I do...but it more along the lines of a mini-side quest.
Classic or DS Mode
Yes you can play Chrono Trigger as you did on the SNES on the top screen (or emulator for I) or play with both screens. I used the DS mode. Wow was it the most useful interface ever. Top screen showed the charaters the bottom screen had a map of the area and shortcuts to the various sub-menus in the main menu. So instead of trying to see how many tech points you need for say Luminare and doing the following: Y->Tech ( a lightning symbol)->select Chrono-> xxx pts Luminare, you touch the lightning symbol and vola tech menu. (Unrelated but I will put it in here any way for space issue because I know Spectere will gut me down like a ganish corn hen [name the game for the win] all items, equipment, ect have their own sub catagories for less clutter fuck.) It is now much easier in DS mode to select the enemy to target.
Translation and Video Clips
OHMYFUCKINGGODITTOOKTHEMTHITTEENFUCKINGYEARSTOGETTHEDAMNTRANSLATIONCORRECT!
Statement says it above.
They took the animated clips from the PSX release of the game and threw them in for good measure...I liked it!
There is much more I could say but I rather have you was..er...I mean thoughtfully spend your money on a great game.
Overall rating 9.75/10
I now give the floor to the other residents of Spoop...I mean S.Net for comments, thoughts and questions about the game.

So a friend of mine is letting me borrow his XBOX in exchange so he can borrow my GameCube.
Now I know you can put Auido CDs and save them on the hard drive but not burned CDs.
Is there any way to go about this with (I cannot stress this enough) very very very very little modification to the machine itself.
I know Spectere probably has done something like this, but he has been busy of late so anyone want to help me out?
