Actually I'm an autotranspleb, I meant that as the start of the video I was backing up and whatnot.

I have been intrigued in the series for a while but never really got my toes wet.

I actually literally wanted to hold out on Disgaea 5 specifically for whenever I get a switch. Which I'm holding out on an upgraded version with more than 32mb storage...I have the lower model of my phone and I have 64gb, the higher one had double that, GET WITH THE TIMES NINTENDO.

So most I played was getting to the title screen of the PC version of the first game...and playing 2-3 hours of La Pucelle Tactics, which I think is like Disgaea before Disgaea existed.

Haven't found the time or attention span to sink serious hours into any of them though.

Reminds me of...

god tier youtuber

I get the competition, but, with all of us, life gets in the way, and the new job location has been taxing enough as is. I just know I have it in myself to do something, if yknow...I ACTUALLY DO IT.

Like moving, ehh, later...ehh I'll look tomorrow...next week...next month...next year...maybe the year after...

ACTUALLY DOING IT, ohh a house, for rent? Cool, let's look at it (30 days later) MOVED IN ALREADY HOWED IT HAPPEN SO FAST.

So I think it's not even a matter of trying, it's a matter of doing at all. Yeah if I'm actually doing something and it isn't panning out, some motivation may be needed, but in the meantime, if I aint even doing anything, I have no right to complain.

As the video explains, PROCRASTINATION = SADNESS. Don't do it later, do it now.

Easiest way to hold my phone while driving?

I'm doing it ghetto holding my phone with one hand and driving and shifting and blinkering with the other hand.

Wouldn't do that on a busy road, but y'all seen it, pretty low pop rural area.

Sad thing, the first house I was looking at was even closer...albeit half as big, so I'm glad that one got snatched up before I could consider it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind getting in shape. I want to keep the goals reasonable though.

Have some kind of physical activity in my EVERY DAY routine, something that even on a busy day I could do. Keeping it consistent makes it easier to stick to. I kinda want to get more flexible and whatnot as well, maybe start stretching to work on doing splits like young people.

That and...eating better...doubt it'll happen but yknow, its the thought that matters.

Most important though, #1 thing I want to do, new job. I think this is actually something I may have a chance at doing this year. I have been content with my deadend job for...9...years...now...but a good friend of mine got fired, I'm turning 30 soon, I finally moved (one of those outside of my comfort zone things), I WANT TO AVOID HAVING A 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AT A DEAD END JOB so...need to find something before September..., and my job location has moved so it feels like a new job, so that forced me outside of being content.

All of those factors SHOULD push me into actually looking, rather than talking about it and doing nothing. What's the harm in a new job, and being uncomfortable for a while, when my current job already forced that upon me. May as well look for something I can make more money at.

I'm not going to be all gung ho THIS IS HAPPENING IM SO MOTIVATED, because I think it's all horseshit, why wait for the first of the year to do something you could'a done 6 months ago? But whatever, any reason is a good one to make improvements I suppose.

A few major life changing things happened in 2017, hopefully I can use that to accomplish more in 2018.

Also an accomplishment this place still somehow alive and kickin.

Random Chat / Re: BEER
« on: December 25, 2017, 05:42:35 PM »
I'm going to have to look some of those beers up. I think I've only had one barley wine, something I wouldn't mind trying more of. Whenever I hit up Toronto (because I definitely intend to) we should do some sort of meet up and have a few drinks. I know you aren't tornoto, but it's the same distance as Chicago for me, so it's the closest thing I got out of country, also I hear it's a great city.

But looking at the date of this post...it's time...

OBVIOUSLY not drinking out of the bottle, just posing for a quick picture, about half way through it right now.

Now I'm a cynic for a lot of things, but not beers, I'm very open minded with beers. That said, out of KBS 2016, 2017, and CBS. I think this may be my least favorite out of the 3. I expect a maple after taste, and I get something, but it aint maple.

I still recommend this beer, but having had it now, I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected. But if I was going to give it an arbitrary number score, that would be me giving this an 8/10 when I wanted to give it a 9.5 or 10.

It's a great beer, but, I think I do enjoy KBS over this. Worth $25 for a bottle? With how rarely they brew this stuff? Absolutely. Will I pick one up in 2022 or whenever they brew it again? Yes. However, I personally prefer KBS, which believe it or not isn't even my favorite stout...top 3 yes, top 1? no. Favorite might be...new holland poet? which is a year round easy to buy oatmeal stout.

It does have a great lingering coffee taste, like past the after taste, and minutes past the last sip of beer, that coffee flavor is quite pleasant.

Y'alls have a happy safe holliday season. I'm going to kick it back at my house with this fancy ottoman the misses got me, and...this fantastic gift set. I am truly a lucky man. It also comes with a bung (tee hee) from one of the barrels they tapped for KBS. Couldn't be happier right now.

As I get older it's not really the gifts, but kicking back, not working, and enjoying yourself preferably with whomever people you enjoy. So I think I'm going to pop open me this CBS, and enjoy some Super Turbo, and do the whole couch cuddling thing while digging into some ps4 Stardew Valley. She's been nagging me for ages to play the game (and I'm the one who bought it for her last Christmas...) and it's finally time to get around to that.

Unrelated rap that just makes me feel good.

Keep it positive y'all!

So I went here with my "boss" yesterday. It's been something we've been talking about for nearly two years now, and we finally had open time in our schedules to go. Since I wasn't driving...had a few...

Great food, great beer, good atmosphere

Had me a "Rye Baby" and I'm glad I did because later at ye ole Horrocks they took my Founders Reds Rye IPA off tap ;_;, and having a second Rye IPA has me thinking it may be amongst my favorite styles of beer. I don't know what it is, I can't pinpoint it, but there's something about it that makes me prefer it to the other various styles of IPA I have tried. I don't prefer this to founders, but it's not a bad substitute.

Then I was thinking I wanted a belgian to be my second drink, I did see duchess there...but $12 for a snifter...and my meal was already pretty pricey...decided to save that one for another day. Picked at random I selected this.

Pretty sweet, tasted more like a wine than a beer, but, a wine I find palatable (I haven't found a wine I can enjoy as of yet) and pretty nice.

Afterwards we hit up Horrocks for my Bi-Yearly trip...and...yknow...what I do...

Not the best picture, didn't feel like re organizing my not organized fridge to show everything, but there's a few things like Westmalle Dubbel, Geuze Boon, Kostritzer (inexpensive german black lager, and it's fantastic).

And no, I don't drink everything right away, I may enjoy my beers immensely but these should last me a good while. If I had access to a Horrocks or similar store with a huge beer variety close by, I wouldn't make big ass hauls when I visited such places. It's nice to have a cool mystery beer after a long work shift.

I do wish there was more foreign stuff available, but the 3 big countries represented are probably Belgium, England, Germany. Not much from elsewhere, so only new country I picked up was a croatian lager, so that's another country off the checklist. Wouldn't mind finding an import house somewhere that I can get my hands on more worldwide stuff, I want to see what Africa has on offer, or like southeast asia (sans sri lanka, they have lion stout which is quite good and easy to find) or something. I am a geography nerd, so, BEER AND GEOGRAPHY, that's my jam.

Fun end to my work week, good times.

better pic, a lot of those cans are Aesthetic

Literally bought them because of the can, no fucking idea what style they are. The people who do Stillwater and Mikkeller art need a damn promotion.

Not much new stuff this time though, compared to what I normally go for.

But in the interest of finding new stuff, where the hell can I find one of these! I need me a beer importer guy.

Gaming / Fighting EX Layer (Beta)
« on: December 12, 2017, 02:26:12 AM »

This thing hit today, didn't really know what to think about it since it started out as an april fools joke earlier this year.

None of y'all follow fightans so this is probably the first you've seen of this particular title. But this is made by Arika, the people who did the Street Fighter EX games. They are the reason Capcom can't put skullomania in Street Fighter because they own the rights to that character. So, now they have their own title, using from what I see, all of the Arika owned characters from the Street Fighter EX games.

Now I'm not that good, and you don't need to be good, or win, to have fun in a fighting game (the video is me mostly losing). And even with that, this game is a blast. I haven't had this much fun playing a fighting game in literal years. The last time was probably some random session I had back when ultra sf4 was relevant, and that's no joke. Tekken 7 is fantastic, but why do modern fighting games force me to spend 40% of my damn time waiting in between matches because of load times or finding opponents, when I'd rather just be rematching the same guy over and over and getting my grind on.

I thought I was going to mess around for a few minutes with a few characters, think "well that's alright" and go about my day, then like 4 hours went by and I didn't realize it. It may look rough around the edges, and it does feel like an old game, but it feels like an old game in all the right ways. Looking forward to the final product whenever that may be.

Check it out y'all.

Nowhere I've seen showed 12oz of CBS for sale. Even on the website with the link I had in the last post, every barrel aged beer shown in 12oz, and bomber, with CBS only being in bomber.

I just find it funny how you live in another country, and are paying less for the same amount of beer that's made 90 minutes east of where I live in my own state.

But I can't say much on duchesse, but I have had two beers from the brewery that made that quad, both saisons. Tank 7, which I found average and kind of overpriced for what it was, but certainly not bad. And something I want to try in more beers before I decide I enjoy it, Saison Brett, which was also a bit overpriced, but I wouldn't mind trying another one. Brett is such a weird unique flavor, it's not for everyone, but I'd recommend trying something like Orval to get an understanding of what taste brett imparts. If you like some of the funkier Belgian stuff, it might be worth exploring. I'm not yet sure if I am in the yes or no camp for that flavor yet. I had an Orval earlier this year and loved it, then I had one about 6 months later and didn't like it at all...might try a third when I hit up Horrocks next week to get a final verdict.

I hope you enjoy those beers sir! From what I hear about CBS, it's like KBS (one of the best stouts on the planet) with maple, which certainly can't be bad.

If I had one holy grail beer, it's this beer.

KBS is released yearly ~March in Michigan, ~April in other states. Miss it one year, you'll have another chance next year.

CBS is not, according to the founders site here, last bottled in 2011...so...this is the first release of this beer since I started drinking beer.

Now how much is it?  750ml bottles only, no 6 packs of 12oz. $25.00 usd.

I'll revisit this thread with my opinion when I crack this baby open Christmas eve or Christmas day. Figured it as a Christmas gift from me, to me. And I do recall around December of last year I read founders was doing 6 bourbon barrel releases, and I fully intended to try all 6. Frootwood, KBS, Doom, DKML, Backwoods Bastard, and now CBS, pretty happy I managed to snag all 6, it's like a scavenger hunt every few months to find a new release for me. AND NEXT MONTH IS BELLS HOPSLAM, man beer is fun.

*obligatory edit storm*

Because science, rating in order minus CBS because that's for Holiday time.

KBS > DKML = Backwoods Bastard > Doom >> Frootwood

Not much to be honest, looking for a videocard (which I kinda don't "need...") and couldn't spot anything. So I just decided on a few vidya.

Divinity Original Sin on pc, ~$13.00. I wanted it on ps4, but on sale that fucker was looking 40...maybe 30 minimum, and the only reason i'd have wanted it on ps4 is to play co op with my gf...but she don't want to play it so fuck it, pc it is.

Pillars of Eternity, it was divinity or pillars, so it was pillars!...'cept I bought this game back in June and forgot...D'oh, well that's money saved. $0.00.

Zelda Oracle of Ages on virtual console, $3.00. I always wanted to play these games, and I could have got both...but instead I figure i'd con myself into beating one before buying the other. Could emulate of course, but I wanted it on muh 3ds, so be it.

Final Fantasy 15, $15.00. If it weren't for all of those mobile adds for the mobile bullshit, combined with the emo git looking characters, I'd have gotten this, but I have been losing my tolerance for that square jpopness, and I don't know if/when I'll pick up that game.

Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac age, $30.00. Am I a hypocrite for prefering this to 15? I beat the original on ps2 some...4? years ago. Going again with fast forward feature (which was great on ff7 port to ps4) and the job system should make the experience fairly fresh.

AND I TAKE IT BACK IM NOT A HYPOCRITE BECAUSE OF THESE TWO

Also would have nabbed ff9 on ps4, but no sale means I can wait.

But due to the nature of "black friday" it's still going on till at least the end of the day into tomorrow, so I'll update if anything else strikes my fancy. I am Setsuna, Stellaris, something else? Maybe...or maybe later.
