I totes want a switch, but I'm really going to try and hold off until nintendo releases their next iteration of the thing. Bastards always release a new iteration like 1-2 months after I end up making the purchase.

Playing vidya tho? Been still Tekken flavored vidya, and I am horrible. Fighting games are a learning process madeup of forgetting what winning is as a concept and only knowing defeat. The transition from 2d to 3d has not treated me well, however on the bright side, I am enjoying my losses and having a good time learning. Winning aint everything and I'm taking small victories when I can, IE successfully setting up a counterhit launcher, or...not dropping a combo online. It's the little victories that count and eventually lead up into more real wins.

So Evo is happening as of this post.

Tekken happened a few hours ago and they announced a new guest character.

My thoughts is "i hope its not a king of fighters character since most of the characters except benimaru and geese are boring and lame"

GEESE MOTHER TRUCKING HOWARD

So they have akuma and geese, and they both look like they legit fit the tekken universe. They're 2 for 2 in my book, good shit namcops.

(ive been playing a lot of tekken and put more hours into it than street fighter 5 which came out feb 2016, im legit hoypppe)

Well I liked the thing...for about 3 hours until my controller just decided to stop working mid game.

But then, why does the controller turn on the steam link, or navigate all of the menus perfectly fine, just wants to not function mid game anymore for no reason?

For reference, I'm using a ps4 controller via bluetooth. I have tried plugging in my ps4 stick which was the thing I used to get to the menu to sync up my ps4 controller, and even that doesn't work mid game anymore.

The Gabe givith, and the Gabe taketh away. At least I can watch youtube on this thing, but it's totally useless for games right now.

*edit*

unplugged my 360 stick from my pc because i remembered that's what caused skyrim controls to not work...and...its never an easy solution with me, didn't work at all

*edit*

I guess it's defaulted any controller compatable games to controller, I can't even figure out how to play the damn things on my pc proper now, I'll keep editing as I figure out this clusterfuck. I literally can't even play southpark at all. It needs a controller to play for whatever goddamn reason, so I plug my ps4 controller wired into my pc, and even that doesn't fucking work(BUT IT DOES FUCKING WORK BECAUSE IT STILL WORKS WITH STEAM MENUS PERFECTLY 110% FINE). I cant even use mouse and keyboard controls.

If I would have known steam link would make my games unplayable, I wouldn't have bought the damn thing. Have not yet seen a solution other than "wait for firmware breh"

*edit*

Well I got it working. I went to the beta version which didn't work back to the normal version and it decided to work. No idea why, but that's the first place i'll look when it happens again. Not sure why that would affect me playing on my pc without steam link though...will need to look into it later...after i beat south park...it's p good...

I do own Euro Truck Sim 2, that game not only for steam link, but whenever I get a job that pays me more than poverty to afford a VR headset, that game is what that shit is made for. VR HEADSET AND RACING WHEEL!

Tried street fighter 4, and maybe its my laggy tv, but the input delay is too much for me to deem playable. Maybe to casuals who can't tell the difference, but my over 800 hours of experience with that game, I damn well know the timing is off on steam link. I can do viper tk feint combos with it, but it's less consistent than just being on pc or 360.

I did manage to wirelessly sync my ps4 controller to the thing and booted up south park stick of truth (which i immediately stopped playing due to an unable to save bug), and at least in the hour or so I've played, it works great. No access to a keyboard so my name ended up blank (not sure if its just the game though, cartman calls you douschebag regardless), and I had to move my pc mouse off screen so it wouldn't be in the way, but besides that, plays like a console game with faster load times.

Not a bad little toy for the $15.90 I payed for it.

Well it gets a LOT better in the following games. I just finished Blood and Wine (second dlc for w3) and it was delicious.

Not sure right now if the choices I made lead to the scenes that transpired, but at least the illusion made me think that different events could have happened. Normal game, you get to the bad guy, have 0 choice but to kill him, see a cutscene after and watch the credits.

Witcher 3 not so much, things keep on going after you''d be sure they have ended. Ended the dlc (which in the timeline happens after the main campaign) on a high note, very pleased with the ending state of the character and company.

Now I guess I'm to play Tekken 7 until something else has my fancy. I also bought witcher 1 on steam (BECAUSE IM TOO LAZY TO INSTALL THE PHYSICAL COPY I HAVE), so maybe that, but I doubt it, lol.

*edit*

182 hours played, considering how many sidequests I have left, I believe this game is bigger than skyrim.

1 is ehhhh

2 is great with some rough edges

3 is rpg of the year all years.

Just don't set yourself for 2-3 with how kinda janky and bad 1 is. AND you dont really need 1 or 2 in order to enjoy 3. While they do continue into eachother, sorta, they kind of dont require those games knowledge for the most part. Game 1, AMNESIA, game 2, AMNESIA AGAIN!, game 3...ok ok ok real talk not gonna use the amnesia card again

I'm not sure this place is like that anymore. A lot of people left over the years, so it's more of a place a handful of people occasionally check up on to see whats poppin'. Nothing wrong with that of course, but the arch0wl days and even a few years after are looooooooooooooooooooooong gone. Even people like me with probably THOUSANDS of hours into stepmania has pretty much retired from rhythm games completely, and I haven't touched stepmania in years. Fucking bemani doesn't even give a shit anyway, I'd happily give them money for even a ps3 version of beatmania, let alone a modern release, but no, fuck them, im playing old street fighter instead.

I picked up the witcher 3 dlc's, so went back to my game completion 148 hour file...

hour 178 currently, beat hearts of stone, diddling with blood and wine sidequests before I polish off that mammer jammer.

I don't want to say the witcher 3 is objectively probably the best rpg in history, but it probably is.

I'm actually not going to tldr this time. Recent years I've been a bit less enthusiastic about vidya, but damn if I am enjoying some great games this year. The youth is coming back to me.

I may have to nab that iron, ive been looking for a paddle tip soldering iron but all the ones ive seen have been pencil tipped. In the small amount of times I've tried to solder, I just can't get enough heat contact with a pencil tipped iron. Could have saved $200.00 on a monitor if I didn't fuck up changing the capacitor because of that. LESSON LEARNED! I should have practiced more on old pcb's I don't need anyway.

Another lesson for you chaps, don't buy samsung monitors, shit capacitors die after a year. I swear off that company now, no samsung monitors or phones in my house.

Combos are basically a rhythm game right?

[crane] JHP [mantis] SMP [crane] CMP xx HK ROLL [mantis switch] FADC before last hit of roll, SMP, TC2 xx light dp

sweg?

That shit is old now and I can do a lot harder stuff now a days. BUT I DOUBT ANYONE HERE COULD EVEN TOUCH IT SO IT STAYS!

Do you guys have a preferred console you acquire games for? I grew up with nes and snes, but I feel the most nostalgia for ps1/n64 mostly because I was a bit older back then and it was during the time when I had multiple videogame magazine subscriptions.

There are probably less than 5 n64 games I want that I don't have, and I cant have enough of dat ps1 (faves console by far).

Would love a copy of Suikoden II, but even loose discs fetch for over $130 over here...

...Definitely going to emulate that one because of that.

(random note please recommend me a good soldering iron, id like to step my solder game up as there are a few projects I need it for)

We're literally all old now.

I severely doubt anyone here is playing this game or will ever play this game, but whatever.

Them Tekken 7 treasure battle pro strats, great way to get those custom doo dads and whatnot.

Enjoying the game so far from what limited time I have recently had to play. Replace street fighter 5? Not exactly hard since I played roughly 20 hours of that game in total since launch feb 2016 including the time I played the betas. Who knows though, community seems positive about the game, and I'm enjoying it right now. Now if only I could get local people to play...that'll never happen.

*edit*

must...get...to...35 dan...for no...reason....

I'm not so sure our beers surface over there very often. There's a canadian craft head in my fightan chat from Toronto area and besides European imports, it seems like our beer selections are way different. Which is weird to me that someone from California can have a more similar beer selection than someone 5-6 hours away in Toronto. That said, Michigan isn't that far, and any of the neighboring states should have Bells on hand, if you ever happen to be across the border.

Being a very popular Michigan brewery, Bells is almost as common as bud lite here. Walmart has it, gas stations have it, convenient stores have it. I just wish shipping alcohol wasn't sketchy in this state, because I'd totally do trades. To my knowledge, I can't even order alcohol online.
