Just do a search for your zip code, i'm sure you'll find a decent number of caches in your area, even if you live in the boonies.

and annon, are you sure your gps wasn't jacked up or something? i tried to find my first cache with my parents for like a half hour, but tried it again the next day with a different gps and found it within like 5 minutes (it was like 300 yards away from where we were originally looking >___>) we tried using a magellan car GPS first, and then i remembered how we have a magellan sportrak GPS laying around, untampered with, so i used that and it worked like a charm.

I was thinking about this earlier- what kind of kid ever would not accept money given to them by their parents? like, i make tons of money selling candy at school, but my parents still usually give me $10 or $20 a week for food and gas and the like. i always accept it and all, and sometimes i feel bad cause i know i have a bunch of money, but i know they know i have monies too, so they're just helping out with my daily expenses i guess. i dunno.

i pulled a holden caulfield and went nowhere with that :x

Random Chat / Geocaching

So I started geocaching within the past few days. I remember distinctly a thread on a0 about it, which is where I first learned about it, and forgot about it, until my mom brought up the fact that her sister got her grandkids GPSes for geocaching, and my mom told me it sounded cool and we should try it. i was like damn, mom, when did you get so cool.

i made my first find yesterday. it was really easy but still satisfying. tried to locate another cache today but failed miserably. i knew the general location but i looked EVERYWHERE for the thing and after a half hour it started getting dark and i gave up. i'll try again tomorrow on the way to another cache and volunteering at the library.

for the uninformed:

www.geocaching.com

basically it's a global treasure hunt. you get ridiculously precise coordinates and you go around trying to find things other people have hidden, and vice versa.

You sly devil, you.  :-X

That really, really blows. I HATE it when things like that happen. Especially when it comes to plans that were, you know, already made. I get pretty upset when I wanna see my woman and don't get to because she doesn't feel like it or screws up or whatever.

Practice today was actually really fun. It usually blows the big one but our main instructor wasn't there, and he's kind of a douche sometimes. Plus we got out like 20 minutes early, which was nice.

I forgot to bring change to school today, so I couldn't break $20s and $10s like I usually can when selling candy. Hate that feeling >_<

Man, I really, really suck at Gradius III. I think it's because I just plain haven't been playing many video games lately (like for the past year or two :x) but I keep dying, even on easy! It's depressing...

i bought my friends really cheap but awesome gifts: a book of poems about teenage angst by some 15 year-old, a spaghetti-o's thermos-bowl (filled with skittles), a pokemon keychain and Princess Guinevere Magical Fairyland DVD, a Rolodex, some BBs, and Evergreen room spray from Bath N' Body Works. Each for different friends. :D
