?

If anything, Opera is a lot easier on system resources and RAM than Firefox is.  Firefox uses more memory than both Opera and IE on every system I've used.

Eh? Sorry, to correct all confusion: I'm 19. She's 18.

IN THAT CASE, YOU ARE EVEN MORE ANCIENT, SIR.

I beat all of the advanced rooms and did a few of the challenges.  Some of the challenges are really hard.  It's definitely going to take some time to get through them (not to mention a completely different way of doing the levels).

And oh yeah, GLaDOS's lines are awesome.  One of my favorites was "If you are feeling tired from thirst, feel free to pass out." XD

Woo, I beat Portal in 38 minutes, 30 seconds, including loading times.  I think it's safe to say that I shattered my original 40 minutes goal.

I was laughing all the way through Portal thanks to little things like that.  The companion cube was the best thing ever.  When I took a look at it and saw the hearts on the sides I just busted out laughing.

Sure you can.  But bear in mind that wireframe rendering isn't all that intensive.  It's a nice feat for a language like VB6 but it's doesn't take that much power to do.  I've messed with wireframe renderers in QB on 486 systems and had them run at full framerate.  VB has a bit more overhead, but regardless, it still doesn't take a lot of horsepower.

VB.NET blows VB6 away in terms of performance without depending on the programmer calling the API.  Let's just say, in VB.NET I can get it to load a PCX file instantly, without the user even perceiving a delay...all using built-in controls and features (aside from the PCX loading itself, of course).  I wrote a program a while back for VB6 that displays 24-bit Windows bitmaps using built-in controls and there was literally nothing I could do to bring it up to even close to that level of performance without making life difficult for myself.

Yeah, you need to carry it with you until the end.  It won't let you continue until you've...disposed of it. *sniff*

Not everything in Linux uses the old standard.  fdisk, for example, uses the new convention (i.e. it picks up my 400GB hard drive as being 400GB, not 372 "GB"), and I believe GNU coreutils also does.  I think GNOME has been changed to match the new prefixes (that or it properly uses the binary prefixes now) and I think KDE is set to do that for 4.0.

That's the thing, though, there are a lot of programs that need to be converted over.  You can't lay blame solely on Microsoft, or Apple, or anyone.

For the 30K thing I think I'm seriously going to set it up and run to Chipotle or something.  I literally sat in front of my computer playing PSP for a few minutes and that little bit of time wasn't long enough.

I think they went a wee bit overboard on that achievement. :P

I wouldn't mind the VB6 Programming job, lol. It'd be so easy I could pretty much program in my sleep, lol.

I'd be screaming about how illogically designed it is compared to VB.NET, not to mention how slow it is in comparison. :P

Okay, now why is everyone blaming Microsoft?  The entire software industry has been slow to switch from the old standard to the new standard.  It has nothing to do with Microsoft.  The developers of OS X's Finder, KDE's Konqueror, and numerous other file managers are equally at fault.

The old method is still a valid way to do it, it's just not a very good one.
