Oh, that's okay.  My laptop really isn't much of a laptop.  The battery has six dead cells...problem being, it's a six cell battery.  It's really just a small, light computer at this point.

Word to the wise: letting your Li-Ion battery go too low too many times is a baaaaaaad idea.

I can deal with it not being perfectly realistic (shooters that strive too hard to be realistic usually aren't fun for most people) but it gets so much wrong that it makes me physically ill.  I've seen mods that don't claim to be close to realistic that still manage to get the whole "head shot = ur ded" thing right.

Not necessarily, I've had a number of decent debates in person, and you guys have proven that you can still talk about the subject without making personal attacks and turning it into a fight.

Pssh, Solaris's partitioning tool makes DOS fdisk look advanced.  It literally doesn't detect anything but Solaris partitions.  Also, Vista does support resizing (finally).  Also, I'm sure my dad's Pentium II in the garage will disagree with the assertion that Windows needs a new computer.  It's happily running XP. :P

And...really, if you reformat a drive and the system is still acting up, odds are it's a hardware issue.  Windows may be lacking in a lot of ways, but when you format a drive the contents definitely get wiped (not securely wiped, but good enough so that viruses can't go "lol attack tiem" when you reinstall); no question about it.

Not even a year ago.

It might not have been a Glock, but the fact that I sprayed someone with an MP5 at close range (10 hits, confirmed by the console, aimed at the back and head regions) and they turned around and killed me with a pistol (or, rather, that they should have been able to keep playing after that) is stupid as hell.  There's no reason they should have been able to survive that, armor or not.

I dunno.  I have plenty of experience with how most of the weapons were and they really did make a lot of them useless.

Some of the other issues with the game are inexcusable.  The final straw was broken for me when ten shots with an MP5 did less damage than two shots with a Glock.  The devs seriously need to wake up and smell the petrol.

A car pack was released for Forza 2 recently.

It includes a Saturn Sky.

I came.

As far as I'm concerned, CS's balance has been fucked up since it came out of beta years ago. :/  When you really think about it, for all of the weapons that they have, only a handful of them are actually worth using.

Hey, those look pretty sick.

Oh, believe me, they are. :D  Everything sounds crisp.  The subwoofers don't drown anything out -- they just shake your head.  It's amazing.

I highly recommend them to anyone looking for headphones, especially if you live near an Fye that has them discounted (I got mine for $50 at the Arundel Mills Mall location).

The virus probably hammered enough system files or drivers to make the system unusable -- it's not too uncommon, really.  When you reinstall over an in-place installation it keeps the registry and drivers in place, as well as some newer system files (I believe).  The only real way to make sure that the system is fine is to do a fresh reinstall.

If you want to try something else before you do that, pop the Windows CD in the drive, boot into safe mode, and try going start -> run -> "sfc /scannow".  If the system file checker will willingly run under safe mode this may help.
