Well like with keyboards, I'd like to branch out in the future when I can afford it. I haven't had much chance to listen to other decent quality cans. The only other pair I have is these RHA MA390's, which I use with my phone. I will say they weren't as bad sounding as I expected, but that was a pretty low bar.

I haven't had a chance to compare the 325s to comment on that, but yeah, I personally feel like the 125s are just better 80s, very similar profile overall just, better.

I don't have an amp, or a DAC or anything, which is something I'd like to fix at some point, but given my current situation I'm holding off any bigger purchases. I'm planning on quitting my job and going back to college for programming.

I'm back playing this shit. Grinding up to my first 9999, and trying to collect innocents to speed up the leveling... And trying to make decent great... And fucking hell, I gotta be missing something . Went from like 24 hours played total to 70 or some shit now. Thank god for weed and Adderall because that would be impossible of not for those.

That's basically what I would expect out of planar magnetics. Not that I've had a chance to listen to them. I'd say your descriptions of the grados matches my experience pretty exactly, but I'll say that the 124e's were a good step up from the 80i's I had. Much improved bass volume, though still a fair bit lower than you'd wand for super bass heavy stuff. But the clarity on the bass is much more noticeable compared to the cheaper/older 80i's. Basically I'd say they're basically the same sound profile and wide soundstage, but better bass, less of a dip around the mid-range, making them slightly flatter in that range, while they are a bit brighter in the upper end. Not much, but they do feel slightly more clear on the really bright cymbals and such. Luckily it's pretty subtle and doesn't brighten them too much.

You can also add or remove whatever you want once you've picked your distro and have gotten a bit more comfortable with Linux, giving you even less reason to fully change to a different one.

I'm glad you like them. I still have my old pair of sr80i's from like 10 years ago, though I've since moved up to the 125e model as my daily driver headphones. They have slightly more bass than the 80s, which just makes them feel a bit more balanced in my opinion.

While I don't have anything decent to compare them to, I really do like my grados. They need a recabling badly (duct tape and zip ties are currently keeping the right ear cable from being pulled out after I had to resolder it) but I really like them.

See that level of control and extra buttons to do with is what I'd love... With a full keyboard layout. Or larger. Without breaking the bank. And I suspect that is not easily accomplished.

Ok, this is pretty damn neat. The closest thing I've worked on would be attempting to figure out how to do static analysis on self modifying code.... I did not succeed in that endeavor. I couldn't figure out exactly how to approach it. Well, more precisely what I was trying to do was analyze intcode programs from last year's AOC. Unfortunately I got caught up in trying to understand how you even structure an approach to parsing a language where everything is integers (of arbitrary size), and they may represent both data or code, and make heavy use of self modification. I was trying to do it in Racket, since racket provides a lot of functionality for creating DSLs. But if I wanted racket to treat it as a language in the editor itself then id need a way to go from intcode to a simplified representation without the self modification. Only way I could think to do that would be either dynamic analysis or hardcore data flow analysis, which I have yet to grock.

Wow, that sucks hard. I smoke, and I have smoked the occasional cigar, but I always try to be as respectful of non-smokers as possible... other than when driving. I keep the window cracked, but unless theres a damn good reason I'm not forgoing my smokes in my car.

Also, fuck my employer. They fucking asked me to switch from afternoons to days for Friday and Saturday (they have us working 6 days a week right now) to fill in for someone in my home department (I'm lowest seniority, and there needs to be at least 1 weekend worker for me to actually get to work there) 2 weeks ago. I said yes. It fucking sucked. Then they asked if I wanted to go back on afternoons when I was scheduled to be on midnights so I could fill in again on Monday (last week). I said yes (afternoons is my preferred shift). I fucking knew they would ask me to switch to days again. This time I said no.

Well then as I was bitching about that before the start of shift meeting the... duck I dont even know his position's official name, head supervisor/douchebag extraordinaire decided to make a sarcastic remark as he was walking by.

I'm fucking sick of this place. With my recent depression and such I just dont have the patience any more. I've decided to quit and go back to college for programming.

:/ looking at some of the pictures on /r/mechanicalkeyboards I can see lots of unusual/custom form factors, but I don't exactly want to build my own. It's just that I'd love to have more actual keys. I'd love something like the space cadet, with all it's modifier keys. I could do without additional function keys if I could have more modifiers. I've been looking into remapping some keys like capslock, as well as adding additional combinations for modifier use (like mapping ctrl+shift a to say, a box drawing character, or greek alpha, or fraktur A etc.) but honestly I'm not super happy about how limited I feel with the standard 104 key factor. Note: apparently the database does not like unicode, I had to remove characters from this post...

WANT

But I'm poor atm. Fuck.

That said, I'd be interested in finding a 122 key keyboard, or something with extra function keys. Know where I should look (and what's out there for keyboards with extra keys. Not macro keys, but keys that actually send different scancodes)?

Osu has a featured artists thing where they actually get artists to willingly make their songs freely available to chart (and even provide fully timed starting files). They have had over 100 featured artists by this point, including Dragonforce. So yeah, I'd say that the publicity is worth it.
