My diet seems to be going well! I lost 30 pounds in 3 months so far (currently 243 pounds; aiming for 185). :D

I'm doing the dieting thing too! I hit 260 lb early this year, which was a new low (high?). I finally got serious about it the past couple months and am down to 230 lb, targeting 190 lb or so.

I switched to Time Warner (I seem to be one of the only people who don't have any issues with them, though that might be because I have far more Comcast experience than I'd like)

A huge deciding factor in my current apartment is that it was supported by CondoInternet (== symmetric gigabit for $80 a month). Comcast has a monopoly in many regions of Seattle, but several apartment complexes have access to CondoInternet and it was a gigantic pleasure to inform Comcast exactly where they should consider shoving their consumer-hostile behaviour.

Unrelated: I have a different car now! My old one finally rusted through important things (brake lines, fuel lines, support joists) after a decade of Ohio winters. I've since picked up a 2005 Elantra (5-speed, new clutch, ~90k miles) that has been coddled by the sweet, mild Washington weather.

A gift! Things are good! I like what I'm doing and where I'm living! I helped out with a thing: http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/19/goodreads-paperwhite-hands-on/

Hello everyone! Hopefully things are good there too!

Obligatory entirely-too-late post-summer check-in!

I had an internship with Amazon over the summer and it went well; I'm starting full-time next June. Also, while I was there, I met a dude I am insanely in love with (and vice versa, even). Life is looking up \o/

My dad has basically been driving my truck around in 4th gear on the interstate because he didn't want to put it into overdrive, and he was surprised when it was overheating.

Christ my truck is literally going to die soon.

Smack him in his stupid bromechanical face.

I still have yet to see that show.

What's it about?

The creators have described it as James Bond meets Arrested Development, and appropriately so. I find it quite entertaining, and it's on Netflix (which, I just noticed, has obtained the second season), so if you want to drop by sometime and watch it, you're welcome to do as such.

Picked up a hardware VGA->S-video (VGA, composite) adapter for $20 (after shipping). Best piece of specialized hardware I've picked up in a long time. I can finally get Andamiro's Pump It Up games running on our cabinet + flatscreen TV!

Also, Mass Effect 2 on PC in the living room is pretty nice. I may buy a separate one down the road for the PC upstairs; I don't actually want to give it up to the arcade cabinet. :D

Tim Exile, Family Galaxy. IDM or something like it. The lyrics are definitely the weak point of this song and I'd be completely okay with an instrumental. That said, it plays around with the beat patterns of the song and it's incredibly interesting as a result.
