Microsoft basically told people with 5 year old CPUs to go fuck themselves.
Correction: my i7-7700 that's barely over 4 years old isn't supported by Windows 11, and apparently some 8th gen processors from early 2018 also aren't supported, so it's more like 3-3.5 years  8)

[...] right now I'm kinda working on homebrew for the 3ds.
The 3DS seems like a really solid homebrew machine—it definitely helps that Rosalina supports remote debugging with devkitARM-gdb over WiFi, which neither of the other consoles I've had to run homebrew on (NDS, Wii) seem to be able to do.

between the paperclip/fuse/dremel incident, "Morgan Freeman", Shannon Watts comments, and iirc whining about ThE MiLLeNiALs with Matthias Wandel, i think i'd be ok with never thinking about david murray ever again 8)

A modern Amiga 1200-compatible (or similar) devboard/computer would rule, though.

Dizz tested the old IPB3 to phpBB conversion script a while back and quite a bit of it did convert properly. IP Tracker is an extension so it wouldn't be converted. I think multi-question polls aren't a thing in SMF or phpBB without extensions (if at all) and that's why those didn't convert either. If I can get an extension to keep the multi-question polls that would be great but I'd have to write the conversion code myself probably... and otherwise the old polls would need to be copied to the post body, which also would require manual conversion. Agh. I get periodically pestered about not having made any progress on the phpBB conversion like their work on it was almost complete and not the bare minimum...

And yep, the BeagleV is the one that I was eyeing up. I've spotted a few around the $70-80 range, but they were from no-name companies and nobody seemed to know anything about them, so... (shrug)

I looked a little bit more at the BeagleV and it doesn't have a GPU—the production model apparently will get one though. It's not obvious how available the current $150 model will be anyway, since it sounds like more of a limited beta release. Depending on the cost and availability of the GPU version I think I might actually try to get one :o

10 seconds per account, yes. It would block on an attempted request to report each spambot to Invision's spam service individually until the request timed out...

Fixing the "integration" wasn't so bad because there's a newer IP Board/Mediawiki plugin I was able to update to. It supports everything MZXGiant's plugin did except forum account SSO, and the wiki is used so infrequently that's not a big deal. When the forum gets moved off of IP Board I'll need to write new integration code for the archive and find a new Mediawiki plugin, but that isn't a big deal. Thanks to the phpBB 3 (I think) requirement on the IP Board converter I will pretty much need to do the entire process on the test server with PHP 5 enabled (or a local VM). Honestly, I might just roll my own conversion code so I don't have to, since the old converter had some major issues anyway (e.g. no multi question poll, IP tracker support).

All of this is still preferable to having to tolerate PHP 5.x.

The RISC-V boards that exist currently sound quite good but also... $680 :o

This one seems closer to reasonably priced but not exactly what I'd want. Guess I'll have to live with qemu-system-riscv for now.

edit: this apparently will land later this year for ~$150.

NECROMANCing this but we ended up having to do the same thing for DMZX. It doesn't get anywhere near that many spam bot registrations, probably more like in the hundreds per year, but still bad enough.

Also, DMZX is still on IP Board because getting the rest of the software dejanked (the archive) or adequately updated (Mediawiki) required a several stage alternating PHP update/fix or update everything cycle. The archive is now PHP 7.4 based and Mediawiki is up to the latest version (and IP Board is sufficiently hacked up to work with the newer PHP), but to get IP Board updated at all will either require hand rolling conversion scripts or using a quite old IP Board to phpBB converter and then stepping up phpBB versions until I get to one that actually supports PHP 7.

but to bring things back around to the topic, one of the things in IP Board that broke? spambot reporting, so flagging the dozens of pending registered accounts as spammers would take like 10 seconds per account for the report to time out >:(

i look away from this place for like a year and wtf. please get help

I haven't done anything with Raspberry Pis yet, but I probably need to get around to picking one up eventually. I'm kind of hoping at some point the same idea catches on for RISC-V. That seems like it'd be more fun to mess around with than yet another ARM device (seriously, I have two phones, a tablet, NDS, 3DS...).

phpBB is what I've been pushing as a replacement for our hilariously broken and outdated copy of IP Board at DMZX. Glad to know I'm not alone in my skepticism about SMF's future...

Thanks!  And yeah, the sea of metal bikinis to sift through on Nexus looking for practical outfits/armor is pretty unfortunate.

EDIT: looks like the Apocalypse link works again.

Also @ Zephlar, what armor is Daenerys wearing in those screenshots? It looks awesome.

None of these suggestions are for SE because I don't use SE.  Any or all of them might require SKSE and SkyUI.  Looks like you're already using the only good mod manager (MO), so that's good :-*

Bug fixes and essential features:
USLEEP or other Unofficial Patches as needed - you should already have these
OneTweak (requires SKSE) - allows windowed fullscreen.
Vampire Lord drain with Serana Fixed (Dawnguard-only) - fixes the bug where Serana makes your vampire lord drain spell useless.
Kindred Judgement Fix (Dawnguard-only) - allows you to complete Kindred Judgement as a vampire.
ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer - prevents the race menu from precaching hairs. Necessary if you have a lot of hair mods.
A Quality World Map and Solstheim Map - With Roads - adds roads to the map so you can tell where the hell you're going.

Optional:
Better Xbox 360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave/load - the vanilla controller support includes only TWO hotkey positions. This changes the buttons so you have eight of them (using the left bumper as a modifier, making select open the hotkeys menu, and making left bumper + select open wait). This also adds a screenshot shortcut to the controller (left bumper + start) and auto walk (left bumper + press right stick).  I play with a controller and I have no idea what I'd do without this, but if you don't, you can probably skip it.
FNIS PCEA2 - like PCEA but less of a pain. You can use this to replace player animations without having to run a utility all of the time. Needed for the next mod.
Spears by Soolie - FNIS PCEA2 Version - gives you spears in Skyrim without making you rip your hair out like the old version did.
XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - you might already have this since it's required by basically everything, but as a note, you can use this to put spears on your back.
The Joy of Perspective - use if you need to see your character in first person mode to feel IMMERSED in this game where NPCs ragdoll a million miles into the air when a giant hits them
Start As Series - Female Breton - I got really fucking tired of the race menu defaulting to male nord :/
Elys's Uncapper - use to make the crafting skills not a slog mainly.  If you use the SPERG perk replacer, it recommends that you gain perks every other level instead of every level, so it's also useful for that.
SPERG - Skyrim Perk Enhancements and Rebalanced Gameplay - replaces the vanilla perk trees with vanilla-like automatic scaling perk trees.  If you don't use Ordinator or PerMa or whatever, this is a really good mod to pick up.
Enhanced Blood Textures - i'm vile
Acquisitive Soul Gems Multithreaded - fixes soul gems so that lesser souls stop polluting your grand soul gems.
Apocalypse Spells - adds new spells that make being a mage actually feel powerful.
Bound Weapon Redux - adds more bound weapon spells, since the vanilla choices are kind of pathetic.
Knock -An Open Lock Spell - in older TES games, you could open locks using Alteration spells. This adds a spell that does that and automatically scales based on your Alteration level.
Paralysis Disarm and Knockdown Immunity Enchantments - I got a mod that adds irritating paralysis effects to certain enemies that results in stunlocks. This adds enchantments you can use to block that.
Field Alchemy - in older TES games, you could carry around alchemy equipment instead of having to find an alchemy table. This adds a mortar and pestle item you can use on the road.

Armor/clothing: thought i had more of these but here are the ones I have installed right now
Practical Female Armors - replaces most of the female armors in Skyrim with non-stupid armor.
Adventurer's Outfit
Cloaks of Skyrim
Lustmord Vampire Armor - mildly questionable but looks cool enough that i don't care
R18Pn 01 - Eisen Platte Armor - if you want to be a final fantasy or whatever
R18Pn 02 - Leere Armor - if you want to be a ragnarok online or whatever
R18Pn 04 - Ritter Armor - if you want to be a tactics ogre or whatever
R18pn 09 - Shanoa Armor - if you want to be Shanoa, and I mean, why wouldn't you

Armor mods that aren't on Nexus:
VS Trek Wear Dress and VS Medieval Archeress Dress WARNING: LOVERSLAB LINK. Not an adult mod, but taken down from Nexus.
VS Noble Archeress Dress WARNING: LOVERSLAB LINK. Not an adult mod, but again, taken down from Nexus.
dint - Nier Automata 1.5 english version WARNING: LOVERSLAB LINK. If you want to be 2B or A2.  Looks better than any of the alternatives I've seen.  Not an adult mod, but the author doesn't allow their mods to be put on Nexus. Requires Heel Sounds (ALSO LOVERSLAB) and HDT HighHeels (Nexus).  Also requires a non-disgusting HDT preset file.

Other:
No one cares about Nazeem - Immersion mod.
