Replaying HL2. My god is this game soo good. Ties for the best game ever with LoZ:OoT in my book. Which I'll definitely get around to replaying too.

GIVE ME MORE DETAILS.

All of MTB's music is great except for their first album (IMO). Omni & Planet of the Ice are both great albums and lean more towards the progressive and experimental side. Menos el Oso is a great album too.

Also, I take back what I said earlier about the Kid Cudi album.

Anyone here a fan of Bonobo? If someone has their music, PLEASE LINK ME. I'm trying to get music here but Uni obviously doesn't allow of torrenting so I'm really deprived ;___;

shit

Dude, as a guy that thinks that most anime is shit, Gurren Lagann is amazing. Subs only, dubs ruin the anime SINGLEHANDEDLY. It seriously gets better as the series continues, and it's only 26 episodes long. Characters foil each other very well, and the creators did a great job making sure that you feel for each character. I'm only on the 9th episode and it's  simply great.

It's made by Gainax who created NGE. If you've seen NGE (and liked how perfectly the characters interacted with each other), I HIGHLY recommend watching Gurren Lagann.

Also, Bleach is a motherfucking terrible anime. I stopped the instant I saw a filler episode. Fuck that shit.

Gaming / Re: Cheating in The Sims (or any game)
« on: January 29, 2011, 02:24:55 AM »
The way of playing The Sims is practically parallel to playing any game from the Metal Gear Solid series: You have one of two options to play the entire game. You can either do the Solid Snake method, the way the game was meant to be played, by swiftly moving by and sneaking by with as minimal casualties as possible. Then there's the "typical gamer" method, which is shoot everyone on sight, don't give a fuck about alerts because you'll get out of that situation anyways. It's the same, you cheat to get by the game and simply enjoy the game, or you play it by the rules to REALLY enjoy how much intricate and time is put into building the game. It's whatever you want to do.

TL;DR: it's up to you.

Cheating can make the game assloads of fun. Quick backstory: Sims cry and piss their pants when they see ghosts. Once on Sims 2, I invited/spawned everyone in the neighborhood in this room I created to fit everyone. I killed one of them off, which spawned a ghost. Once the ghost spawned, there were roughly 40 Sims that had simultaneously cried, and pissed themselves. Then I watched the hot maid clean up every damn bit of it.

PS:

I find solace in my religion and culture in a world filled with people who think like you. I would rather not indulge in things I have no interest in than be like you, thanks.

just sayin this statement does in fact come off INCREDIBLY arrogant regardless of whether you meant it or not; i definitely see where mortified got his response from.

also K-Mann, am I assuming you also have friends that stay sober with you as well? if you're the only one that's staying sober, then i find that really interesting.

and on another note: i was raised christian as fuck and asian as fuck. despite that, my friends were pretty normal and had normal lives with them, it was just average families with average lives. i'm really impressed at what effect social pressure has on you, because before the moment I puffed that joint, I had no intention of even trying it. in front of my friends, when everyone else is? sure why not.

Despite the fact that Kanye West is a huge douchebag, Runaway is one of the best songs he's created.

Who here watched Tron? I haven't seen it but I'm kinda worried it'd be an Avatar for me. Personally, I didn't like Avatar at all. It's basically the first three Star Wars episodes (as in phantom menace, etc.) jam packed into one movie with an even more ultra shitty storyline but even greater special effects.

I went to the NDK new year's ball (NDK is Colorado's major anime convention), but the hotel was also hosting another new year's event. That one had a lot of mid-20's people who got really, really drunk and started some fights. One elevator got covered in champagne because some dickweed thought it would be a great idea to shake up a bottle and open it inside, while another had blood on the doors because a fight broke out near it. Actually a lot of shit went down, none of it caused by the weeaboo crowd. I wish I knew more, but I wasn't at the scene for most of it, so I only got to see the aftermath. Also no news teams seem to have picked it up.

I've always felt a bit guilty about the mess we end up making at NDK that the hotel staff has to clean up, but at least we're not committing felonies.

As for me, leading up to midnight, me and some friends went to the aforementioned formal ball. I had a 3x3 Rubik's cube with me, and I hung out with my friend who recently got into sleight-of-hand card tricks (and got good really fast), so basically we went around and put on shows for small groups of people. After midnight, the ball dispersed and we went up to our room. There were 7 of us in total, and we had a bottle of sake, a bottle of Jagermeister, and a bottle of Jack Daniels. Since I had a few episodes of Bill Nye on my laptop, we played a drinking game: Every time someone on the show said "science", we all took a shot. The liquor lasted 2 episodes. After that, we played some Mario Kart 64, but quickly gave up when we realized how hard it is to drive while drunk, so we watched The Room until everyone passed out. It was a fun night.

hOLY FUCK THAT IS SO MUCH BULLSHIT THAT I DID NOT WANNA READ

but srsly, did you at least get any action
