I quit cigarettes three days ago.  Been smoking for 4 years (started when I was 15) and I quit cold turkey, I think I'm out of the deep end for now.  However, I'll never stop drinking or smoking weed; I love it too much :)

Have you heard the term Greek Tragedy? Yes, there were emo Greeks. And probably Emo ancestors before them.

It's a good book but far overrated.  Had to read it in high school and  can remember thinking of the main character as the first ever emo kid in recorded history.  Unless there were some ancient Greek emos I didn't know about.  Possibly emo Spartans.

Seems to me that Salinger was crazy himself and decided to write about it.  Not that this is bad; I'd love to write a book about the strange thought processes I tend to have or the random things I tend to do.

Salinger, last I heard, has decided to lock himself in a cabin somewhere and produce no new material for his haplessly emo fanbase.  My english teacher told us she wished he would die already so someone can raid his cabin and publish the books he's no doubt been writing all these years.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for; it gives you Longitude, Latitude, and generates a map.

How does one go about locating an IP? That is to say, finding its physical location.

<erno> hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.

If you're just looking for the IP, it's command prompt > ipconfig /all
Or if you're looking for a physical location...

Found this today, not part of my section of the umbc site.  When I find who put this up I'm going to shake their hand so hard it's going to fall off.

Assholes with cars

Idk if it's illegal here but he didn't get fined for it.  All that happened is he has to pay for my car.  It hit my car so hard it was pushed up onto the curb and busted the bottom front frame.  I figure I'll go to a junk yard and get a reflector, pocket the rest and call it a day.  The rest is just cosmetic anyway.

Uh, also, isn't that kind of illegal?  Like, to the point where he could wind up getting some very serious jail time for it?

Well he didn't shoot at me or anything.  He was just mad.  Plus he was a generally nice guy, just angry cause I had ditched her after prom.  At the time I had planned on still talking to her and maybe dating after she grew up a little, but since there are now shotguns involved I decided against ever talking to her again.

Actually I had her mom's number saved into my phone as "Ms. S" and accidentally called her one day when I was looking for "Mom".  Fun times.

I am firmly of the belief that relationships suck.
Seriously, girls make relationships faaaar more complicated then they need to be.  The whole process of meeting other people seems so sporadic and finicky that it makes you wonder if anyone actually wants to find someone they like.  It almost seems like people (women in particular) are more fixated on letting people trick them into liking them than actually going out and seeing what works for them.  Not in a promiscuous way of course, but we should be open to new people.

The Dark Knight was so. Fucking. GOOD. The entire movie was phenomenal, and I'm not even sure I know a word to describe Ledger's performance. Suffice to say, it's easily the best movie of the year, guaranteed.

I'm cutting out of work today to see it at 4, it's the only showing time left because it's all sold out.  It looks amazing and I've been a big batman fan since I was like ten (See Avatar).  So if any of you live in maryland then don't look to the back row of the theater if you value your innocence  ;)

So my car was hit yesterday.  I wasn't in it though, and neither was the owner of the other car.

I'd parked up against a curb, and he in the middle of the lot.  He was in neutral, didn't have a parking break on, and had a truck club (the one that goes over your wheel) propped against his driver seat pushing his break pedal down.

Well, apparently it didn't work too well.

But now the asshole has a towed car and an insurance ticket.  Just my luck to get hit be a roving, unmanned vehicle.

Canadia
Canada is a fun place.
  • The women seem more like women and less like girls.
  • You can smoke a joint on the curb because it's cold outside and the police don't feel like getting out of their cars.
  • The drinking age is 18 in Montreal and 19 in Toronto

When I go up to see my family, we play this game called "guess who's American"; you can pick them out of a crowd by just looking for people wearing hoodies.

There's a tauren on my server that fell in love with my bloodelf... he wont stop talking to me.  The creepy part is that now he knows I'm a guy and it has only made him more persistent.

My first girlfriend I was with for over a year then I broke up with her at prom because she was an asshole.  Her Dad came after me with a shotgun.
I've been in and out of month-long relationships since then, but I like it that way.  This way there's more of a chance for me to meet the right person and less chance of an encounter with a shotgun.

I've tried two 14-day trial accounts with the same result both times: lost in space.  Literally.  The universe is so huge that I went the wrong way and never found a way back.  I'm sure if I took the time to learn everything I'd be in the clear, but I just don't have the patience.
