So I had this dream

I was rescuing a small doggy

the doggy had eaten many valuable jewels

bad people wanted to kill the doggy to retrieve the jewels

I saved the doggy, but I needed a getaway vehicle.

Who else do I run into?  Spectere and LunarKeys, that's who.  Spectere's driving the getaway car, and monsieur Keys is chilling in the back.

Cops give chase

Spectere starts driving like an idiot

I instruct Keys to give me the PS2 controller that I somehow knew was in the back of the vehicle

After saying "Dammit Ian, if you're going to drive like a dumbfuck, at least let me get rid of the cops!  Here!"  And then I take hold of the controller and input the cheat codes for "never wanted" and "flying cars" from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

They work.

Cops go away.

We fly away.

Fun ensues.
actually fuck you guys just kidding keep my quote in your sigs

College schedule has been changed at the last minute. Whoo.

Basically, I was locked out of the required classes when I signed up, and I was required to take one at another campus (which is doable, just inconvenient). So, I dropped that one in order to take another, except I accidentally dropped a different one that was on campus instead. That class filled up by the time I realized my mistake, so I sent off an e-mail to the professor asking about being re-added (since every other class is at either 0, -1, or -2 for remaining slots, a.k.a. over-full). In the meantime, I checked my curriculum requirements and registered for another class that I need (which is going on right now, but I'm not there - going Wednesday).

Basically, I'm at 16 credits again, but I have a class that I need and want to register for, and if I can manage to get in, I'm dropping this other-campus class in favour of it. No potatoes since it's neither good nor bad in total, just a bit stressing.

My processor is at about 70 degrees C, should I be worried? My case seem to be fairly warm and I'm hoping my graphics card isn't going to explode.

Also this game (Lost Planet) isn't even that graphically demanding but it's turning my PC into an oven, what the hell is going on here?

Probably. You might want to check the heatsink. Hell, mine's OC'd 8% and never gets above 40C, even if I'm breaking the source engine in Gmod.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

That's on the warm side, but it's still well within acceptable ranges.  If you haven't cleaned the system in a while, grab a canned of compressed air and blow the heatsink out.  If you have a heatsink that allows you to unscrew the fan and remove it, do so.  If not, get as much dust out from under the fan as you can.

Those kind of temperatures might even be normal for your processor.  On my Prescott P4, my CPU averaged 40C idle and 60-65C under load.  Similarly, C2Qs run hotter than C2Ds in my experience.  The manufacturing process of your CPU makes a difference, too -- 65nm CPUs run hotter than 45nm CPUs.  There's a lot of factors; it's hard to say for sure what your CPU "should" be running at.

Yeah, I was gonna post about how some CPUs run much hotter than others.

Why do 65 nm CPUs run hotter than 45s?
This is going in my sig. :)
