I have a debit card (aka bank card, aka, not useful online, except for logging into my online banking stuff). I have -$2 something in my account right now, thanks to service fees and no income. My car isn't in my name yet, my parents have been paying for my education so far...

I think I'm worth less than you, lol.

But regardless, yeah, I'd like to have a credit card, even for buying little stuff and then paying it back right away... But I also don't want the trouble of having something that I can spend money that isn't mine with... I might end up using it for something i won't have the money to pay off for a long time.

So after writhing in pain for several days, I mustered up the testicular fortitude and went to the dentist today.  (I'm a pretty big wuss when it comes to several things.  Doctors, dentists, librarians, etc.)

Unsurprisingly, among a few other things, I need to get either a root canal, or to just get this damn tooth pulled.  Due to insurance issues, they couldn't do much for me today other than prescribe me some Vicodin.  At first they were like "lol, you have no dental insurance, you silly goose."  But then I was like "Bullshit, my dad has been to this very place and gotten work done without having to drop $4,400 for it." 

Turns out they were looking through the wrong carrier.  I'll still have to drop a pretty penny on all of this, but now that I've proven that I do have insurance, I can possibly get out of this for under a thousand.  Maybe.  It'll be a lot lower if I just say "fuck it" and get the tooth pulled.  S'what my dad wants to do, at least. 

But hey, at least after this week, I might be able to sleep at night!    What with one of my best friends dying, intense drama among two close friends, me falling insanely behind in some classes, I've been averaging around two, maybe three hours of sleep a night since late September.  And once this tooth bullshit started up, the two/three hours dropped to either no sleep at all, or three hours, but in 30 minute intervals because it'd keep waking me up.  Hence the vicodin.  Haha.

So hopefully, once all this dental stuff is taken care of, I'll be able to get some sleep without the aid of drugs.  <3

But shit, man.  This stuff only cost me $0.52 a pill.  wtf?

I got Vicodin once back when I was 13 after I had surgery on my finger. Never took any of the pills, but damn did I ever wish I knew the resale value

I went to a dentistry office at the University of Minnesota and since I was seeing student dentists for my work (well, they were grad students and supervised by a licensed dentist/professor), it was all super cheap. I think I ended up getting my root canal done for about $500? It was also completely painless. It just took forever because the professor has to okay their work as they go and so they have to wait for the professor to show up again since there are many students and not enough professors.

Which reminds me, I also still need my wisdom teeth out. All four are impacted and will have to be cut out. But that can wait until I have insurance at least.
