Hey, that's pretty cool. But in my currently painkiller-induced euphoria, many things are cool now that were not before.

I likey! I like the drop down menus and such. I've always liked seeing properly done drop down menus online.
This is going in my sig. :)

Indeed! :D  The message rules look pretty nifty and I rather like the changes that are being done to the member groups (like the phpBB-style group join system -- I was wondering when they'd add something like that).

It looks like it's going to be another fine release of SMF.  I should become a charter member...I've been using SMF long enough (since 1.0, bay-bee) that I really should give a little bit back to them.  And besides, if I become a charter member we'll be able to see alpha versions and stuff like that before everyone else. ;)

Cool, I didn't realize you'd been using since 1.0.

Yeah, both s.net v2.0 and arch0wl.com used SMF 1.0.  It's amazing even how much v1.1 improved things; I can't wait for v2.0.

Yeah, I've used phpbb3, but I still think SMF's the cooler forum system.

I used phpBB 3 a bit a while ago.  It has some nice features but (1) SMF is far more established than phpBB 3 will be (i.e. more plugins, themes, etc available -- phpBB 3 is a complete rewrite, after all) and (2) I've used SMF for several years, so I'm quite used to it.

The administration control panel for the version of phpBB 3 that I used was pretty messy, too.  SMF has a ton of options and everything is presented in a tight, logical fashion.  phpBB 3 offers a lot of options but it seems a lot more spread out to me and less efficient to navigate...me no likey.
