See topic.

After the recent "Aiongate" incident, I found more posts saying "GTFO SPAM BOT" than the spam bot was actually able to make.  I don't think I really need to explain why that's more than a bit silly.

If a spam bot actually manages to make a post, just click the report button and forget that the post existed.  When you click that it'll send me an e-mail with a link to the thread (as well as a description that you guys fill in) so that I can take care of it.  Causing a larger disruption than the spam bot itself does isn't going to help matters.

Wait, I don't get it. So...we're supposed to respond to spam bots since that cuts down on disruption? I'm not entirely sure what you're saying here.

EDIT: seriously, though, I never noticed that "Report to moderator" thing, and it's been here all this time? Trippy.

It's part of SMF.... I also said something about not responding because some spam bots will actually post more when you respond.

Yessah.  The report to moderator feature sends it to me without clogging up teh intertubez.
