i don't feel like making a post in the computer section yet.

past few days i updated my video and monitor drivers, various windows updates, upgraded to sp2, ect.

somehow in that time, my monitor shows everything a lot darker than normal.  even turning up the brightness on my monitor doesn't do anything...anything except making the cursor the proper brightness.

now i don't know about you, but it's annoying having my cursor display the color white, as the color white.  but every other instance of white is starting to be more of a grey.  my monitors brightness before was a 40(anything above 50 hurt my eyes), now it's 80, and it's a lot dimmer than it used to be at that setting.

*edit*

weird, it's back to normal.

I have that issue after I exit Mafia II.  It's almost like the system is preparing to display a UAC screen.

Locking the workstation (i.e. Win+L) and logging in again fixes it for me.

Congrats dude. Reap the benefits and work hard! Did you decide what exactly you want to do within? (ie Personnel Recovery, Special Operations, Reserves, etc.)

Well it depends on how well I do on the test.  If I score high enough I can do the jobs right up my alley.  Not to mention because I have some college education under my belt I would start at an E-3 to an E-4.

A friend of mine was able to start out pretty well-off in the Navy without having any college experience (I think he made E-5 in about a year or a year and a half).  It pretty much all depends on how well you do on the starting tests and talking to the right people.

I think you're do fine; you're a smart cookie (unless you're playing Doom...that's like our kryptonite).

I cared, you little cog in the machine you.

Also I've been sick all day. Couldn't fall asleep last night, and when the day rolled around I couldn't stop shitting.

Oh god yes.

I took the practice ASFAB test and I scored a 64 which allows me to get majority of the jobs but it was a practice one there is ways to study up so you can get a better score.  Yeah but my mind is made up I want to go into the air force.

Well, I'm off to an interview for my co-op in a couple minutes. It's about damn time I've heard from someone. It's not the best job (It's probably the worst one I've applied to by a fair bit) but at least it's something. The job is basically building electrical panels part time for some large job that the company just didn't have enough people for, or something to that effect. Not exactly rocket science, but hey, it's something.
This is going in my sig. :)

So, yesterday at work.

I'm walking through the restaurant side of the building, trying to get to the cooking school room.  Had to report for some class for new staff about selling alcohol.

I'm just about to the elevator, when I stop to have a gander at a cardboard cutout of some guy that had seemingly appeared near a doorway.  I figure "Eh, must be some new promotion or guest.  Whatev."  and continue along my way.

Then some guy walks in front of me.  He stops, looks at the cutout, then to me.  I look at him, then to the cutout, then back to him.

The cutout is now DIAMONDS!
No, not really.

But it was in fact the same guy.  I stood there for a moment with a bit of a *derp* look on my face, thinking "Did that just happen?" when he says to me "Hey, that guy there kinda looks like me, eh?"

"Yeah, kinda.  But the guy on the cutout is a bit cuter."
"Yeah, he is.  Ha!"

(twas this fellow.)
actually fuck you guys just kidding keep my quote in your sigs
