Ok so my roommate ordered a shitton of Legos because he's building a Lego-based computer case. He doesn't have all the parts he needs for the case, so he told me and our other roommate that we should feel free to build whatever we want with the Legos before he gets everything. I managed to make a 17" tall monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey with the proper 1:4:9 ratio.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

So now Bee, the girl who works at Oishi, the very nearby Japanese take-out place (REALLY nearby, like one mile from here, if that) not only knows me by name when I walk in the door but when she gave me my food she just said, "See you next week!" I didn't even realize I was going there every Saturday but apparently I do and so I guess I will just keep doing that because their food is really really good, filling and inexpensive (like $7 and they give you at least a pound and a half of food). And she's hot. She doesn't normally wear glasses but she had these black thicker-rimmed glasses that looked really good.

Then later today I go with my friends to Buffalo Wild Wings for UFC night like we always do and we got a different waitress than normal since they had to seat us in a different area and the waitress was super hot and had this flower in her hair that looked really really pretty and I just blurted out that it looked really good without any real intention of hitting on her further than that and she ended up blushing and I just stammered like an idiot for a few seconds until I just stopped talking.

Definitely a good Saturday though.

Well, yeah, it's certainly doable...but it's not something I would enjoy doing every weekend.

Then again, Honolulu is a very car-biased place. Nothing like waiting 5 mins for the light because all the places with food are at intersections (never your side of the street, btw.) Or having to cross streets with no lights/signs, and basically having to wait until a benevolent driver lets you run across.

/ugh

Hmmm not bad I think I do about a mile and a half in about 15 walking (7 minutes if I run)

Man, a mile and a half in 15 minutes walking is pushing it. I walk around 4 miles an hour, and that's a decent speed, most people I know don't walk that fast (there are some who do, but not the majority by any means). A mile and a half in 15 minutes is 6 an hour, which is pretty much jogging speed. 6 miles an hour walking is nearly impossible for most people... I'm not saying you couldn't do it, but if you actually do, that's damn fast for "walking" somewhere.
This is going in my sig. :)

Oh yeah, and I have to walk 2 miles if I get hungry after about midnight or so, since I live on-campus in a very residential area (read: nothing's open) and the nearest 7-Eleven is a mile away.

Lame. I think the closest 24 hour convenience store (which is right near a mcdonalds and an a&w) is probably about a kilometer away (1 km= 0.62 mi), maybe a bit longer than that, but not a mile. My girlfriend's parents place is across town though, and we would usually meet about halfway (well, closer to her place, but it's the best meeting ground) when we'd walk and it's about 2 miles (one direction), so I'm used to walking that sort of distance fairly regularly (a bit less in the last couple years, because she's been in Barrie a lot, and Barrie's about 50 km away... not something I'd walk, lol.) And one of my friend's places is about 2 miles away (maybe a bit closer, since it's uphill, and it takes me about 30 minutes [sober] to walk it), but he used to live somewhere between 3 and 4 miles away, and I made that walk back home a lot.
This is going in my sig. :)

A lot of people say I walk really fast. I think it's because I'm tall and have long legs. It takes me about 12 minutes to walk a mile unimpeded at my regular pace.

There's a 7-11 just down the street from my house, but everything else is at least a mile away. Campus is about 3 miles away. But I bike everywhere, which is like 4x faster than walking.

Oh yeah, and I have to walk 2 miles if I get hungry after about midnight or so, since I live on-campus in a very residential area (read: nothing's open) and the nearest 7-Eleven is a mile away.

That kind of sucks. I remember when I lived on campus one of the dining halls was open until 1am.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}
