2006? last one in the Ottawa valley was in 99... Quakes that strong here are REALLY rare.

Well these events are things that might happen around here once every 10 years, or more. The last quake out of the ottawa valley was 99, and barrie had a tornado a while back (quite a while ago now, actually, like, 20+ years), and that was the closes we''d ever heard of a twister getting to here. And now we have both hit in one day. If this isn't a sign of the apocalypse i don't know what is, lol.

Does anybody believe that shit about a supposed meteor hitting the earth in 2012?  I actually went to therapy a couple years back just for that reason.  I believed all of that nonsense on the history channel and I felt like I was just too damn young to die.  Sure, if I knew for a fact that there was an afterlife, I wouldn't give a rats ass when the world ends.  What do you guys think?

I call bullshit on all that 2012 shit. The whole reason that people are freaking out is because the mayan calendar counted backwards from a date in 2012. What people forget is that to the mayans, the end of the calendar was the signal of a new era, kinda like how the year 2000 is regarded as special, seeing that it is the second milennium since the date of christ's death.

Plus, what's the point of worrying even if we are gonna die in 2012? Why not just enjoy life, and if shit happens, deal with it then. If we're all gonna die then there's nothing we can do anyway.

I actually came across it a year and a half ago, and I won't lie I was pretty bought into the fact that SOMETHING was going to happen. I did graphics for the site and got to talk to the people responsible for creating the site. There are some very brilliant people dedicated to shattering that bs.

Heh, yeah, I'm not buying into the scare.  Bottom line, if something apocalyptic does happen in 2012 there's nothing we can do about it.  It'd be like walking around every single day in a panic because you knew that you're bound to die one day in the indeterminate future.
