I upgraded my Mac's OS to Gentoo because I got peeved that gcc isn't included in the default build and I didn't want to have to poke around Apple's maze-like site to find Xcode.  Why was this a big deal?  Because I hate using the BSD tools, and you can't exactly compile coreutils and friends without gcc. :P

I'm only half joking, by the way.  I also wanted a box that I could use to play around with GNOME a bit more.
