I got married! (pics)
« on: October 11, 2017, 06:17:10 PM »
I know I posted the neat little scroll invitation on here before, but it has since come and gone. I'm officially a very very lucky married man. The wedding was Skyrim/Game of Thrones styled. We even passed on our amulets of Mara during the ceremony. Everything turned out super incredible though I'd share a few images from it. Our outfits and the banners were hand crafted by her mother who is incredibly talented. The banners are our actual sigils from the ancestry website.

Her sister made our crowns out of clay. They are all crazy artistic.

Hoozah!

No Khajiit? No Argonians? RACIST!

(Though I guess that does sorta fit in with the Skyrim theme.)

But seriously, congrats, man! ;D Great pics, too! That had to have been a blast to set up.

Thanks guys. It was a friggin blast. We had a couple hay bales targeted for archery, throwing axes, throwing spears and throwing knives. Needless to say the guys got toasty and hovered around that area lol.

To be fair Ian, the farm had a few cats running around and there was a komodo dragon and a snake brought over from her sisters property next door so....we weren't 100% racist.

Ain't he a cutie?

That's a gorgeous snek. :D Alright, I'll give you a pass this time, Dragonborn.

And...a Komodo dragon? O.o You sure it wasn't a different type of monitor lizard? Komodos are pretty dangerous (and are like 10' long). Not trying to be terribly pedantic for a change, just a bit concerned. :P

You are correct. I dunno why I thought I heard that. Duh. It was apparently a bearded dragon.

We are actually waiting on that. I used all my paid time off for the week prior to help set up everything so I don't really have the time to expend yet.

However it will be pretty neat. She is obsessed with Japanese culture so we are going to be driving up to Virginia (we're in Atlanta) for the Pembroke Springs Retreat. It's a little japanese family super authentic with hot springs and all that jazz. Sounds super relaxing.

You should introduce her to Pop'n Music. ;)

You should introduce her to Pop'n Music. ;)

Believe it or not she doesn't like those kinds of games, which is crazy to me. She is a singer through and through so Rock Band and Karaoke Rev were the only music games she got into. Who knows though, she may actually like it. I wouldn't even know where to begin on how to find it. Aren't the controllers like crazy expensive for that game?

Pop'n is pretty casual, so she might actually enjoy it. They've been pretty good about keeping a steady flow of licensed anime music as well.

And yeah, controllers are a bit on the pricey side. Gamo2 has them for $234, but the shipping (from China, via EMS) is pretty crazy.

However, there is a Round 1 arcade at the Stone Crest Mall in Lithonia, and according to ZiV they do have a Pop'n machine (as well as the latest IIDX, DDR, Pump, Gitadora, etc). Wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. :)

If she doesn't like it, there's plenty of other stuff to do there, too.

Hey thanks for the research lol! How did you find that out? That's an hour and a half away from me not bad at all.

Zenius-I-Vanisher has a great arcade map: https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/arcades.php. There's a bunch of entries that are outdated, but if it's been updated within the last few months it's generally pretty safe bet.

Hope you guys have fun! I went to the R1 location in Grapevine, TX, and it was freaking awesome. I highly recommend trying Sound Voltex and Groove Coaster while you're there.

We're going to be getting a couple up here within the next year or so--one in Erie and one in Cleveland--so I'm pretty excited about that.
