Am I the only one who doesn't care much for Smash?  It's an okay album, but the only songs that really stand out to me are Nitro and Smash.

Ignition is probably my personal favorite, with Ixnay and Americana tied for second.

No love for their self titled album? I loved that one, probably my favorite, with Americana and conspiracy of one secound. I've really REALLY been out of the loop for music. I guess no pirating and no money will do that. Hell, my friend just told me NIN came out with like 4 CDs after with teeth.

me 2 :D

I actually like The Offspring, despite hating any other pop-punk band with a burning passion.  They just sound different, and better, somehow.  Hammerhead is an ok song, but I just don't find it as interesting as other stuff they've done.  Anyway, Smash > Ignition > Ixnay On The Hombre > The Offspring > Americana > Conspiracy Of One > Splinter

But Offspring is more grunge than pop-punk. Weren't they basically one of the bigger grunge bands of the 90s along with Nirvana and Pearl Jam?

Anyways I discovered The Raconteurs. I first though they would be some wannabe retro band that can't play for shit like Franz Ferdinand, but they're actually pretty good.

Many Shades of Black (you've probably heard this song):

The Raconteurs is an amazing band. They have such a great sound.

Steady As She Goes - A wicked track, and their first single.

Crazy (them playing a cover of the Gnarles Barkley song), yep, they actually covered that track :P

At first, I wasn't a very big fan of jack white, but after stuff like Steady As She Goes and pretty much the entire CD Icky Thump, I've really come to respect him.

The White Stripes - You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told) - Seriously, this track is absolutely amazing. Just listen to the guitar work, especially the solo. The solo in this track is absolutely amazing.
This is going in my sig. :)

I'm not at all a fan of The White Stripes and the fact that Jack was in The Raconteurs originally put me off from them, until I heard them lol.

Why? Musically, it's probably 20 times better than any other CD they've released. I went from thinking "wow, this shit is boring. Yeah, Jack can write some sorta catchy shit, but it's just so boring, I'd rather listen to Drone than this :/" to "Ok, wow, I now actually have respect for Jack, not only can he write shit that's catchy, he can write stuff that is actually interesting. He went from boring, to damn near revolutionary."

I'd honestly MUCH prefer to listen to Icky thump than well, pretty much all the rock that's currently being made. Crap like 3 Doors Down, Coldplay, Nickleback, and all that other boring ass "Modern Rock" crap.
This is going in my sig. :)

I think Spectere and I had this conversation while on a CMU/NPCH trip before we picked up Jupi Chan (Correct me if I am wrong Spectere).

It was more along the lines of "Mainstream" music.
It's shit. Think about it has gone down hill in the last 15 years.  I mean I have to either listen to stuff thats 20 years old (which I like to no end) or I listen to foreign music.  Don't get me wrong the stuff that comes out of Sweeden and Germany kicks ass (Scott Brown from the UK is pretty damn good as well).  It's the fact that other people who over hear to what I listen to think its sounds stupid.  Well I am sorry that Machinae Supremacy is better then your POS Mainstream music.  I like them.  They are a really good group.    I would listen to more "American" music but the genres I like are either small groups of people like it and it is underground stuff and it's hard to get a hold of that music or it is from over seas.

Sorry if I didn't make a vaild point but you can see my general view point.

Well, I totally agree that mainstream music is, for the most part, absolute shit.

I listen to everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING. None of this "all genres of metal, some electronic music, and maybe the occasional bit of hardcore or jazz", I mean I listen to all that, and much more (drum and bass, Breakcore, Jazz, Swing, Old Country, Classic Rock, pretty much every genre of metal, noise rock, hardcore (Bring me The Horizon and stuff), metalcore, hip-hop/rap (only the underground/non-commercial stuff), indie, folk, and a whole bunch of crap I can't think of)), and 95% of it isn't mainstream. I do listen to the occasional bit of mainstream (hey, I actually like a lot of Rihana's music), but I mostly prefer stuff that actually has musical talent.
This is going in my sig. :)
