I got the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack. I forgot how good this game's soundtrack was.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

Melt Banana

Wicked stuff. If you haven't, you should check out John Zorn's Naked City, and Boris (their more noise rock type stuff, like Smile)
This is going in my sig. :)

Yeah, it's rather nuts. Also on a slightly related not I downloaded the Neo Tokyo soundtrack, and I must say it has some really catchy songs.

One of the better ones, a lot if it is slower and rather mellow instrumental/"techno" music.

At least you used the quotes around techno, lol. I hate when people call electronic music techno. With game soundtracks it's REALLY hard to categorize the music much of the time, but this has elements of breakbeat mixed with the cool instrumentation. And some of it is almost IDM.

Regardless of what you call it, it is a pretty awesome track.

only boris ive heard was in collaboration with merzbow.  pretty trippy.

but melt banana has yasuko o, and her vocals really pull it together.  though like when they glitch the guitars = instant erection.

Heavy metal recommendations plox.

I do not like:
screaming/growling [to the point you can't understand them]
shitty thrown together drums/guitar [sounds like a big fucked up mess]
constant bass drum usage
hardcore shredding that requires little to no talent [frequent hammer ons/pull offs and overuse of same scales]

I do like:
technical and different timings using the double kick/whatever
POWER CHORDS
harmony in singing
the new avenged sevenfold stuff. [preferably more stuff like this]
dethklok, probably because of the cartoon. it's not TOO heavy.

Heh, no idea what Breakbeat and IDM are so I just throw it into a vague genre and throw own quotes to get the message across. Quotes really are the best way to be wrong about something without coming across as an ass hat.

As for sneaky. Um, shit, Killswitch? Possibly Sepultura, Fear Factory and Pantera seem to fit the bill but I'm sure you've already heard of everything I've named.

Breakbeat can refer to a specific style of drumming, or a style of electronic music based on it this is a good example of breakbeat drumming, and this is the di.fm breaks channel, which is a good example of breakbeat music (and it's subgenres).

IDM is stuff like Squarepusher, Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin, etc. All that really messed up psychotic electronic stuff.

If you want a great resource for looking up a specific style of electronic music, I highly suggest taking a look at Ishkur's Electronic Music Guide. It's highly opinionated about some genres, but it gives you a number of short samples of songs for each genre, and covers nearly every genre of electronic music. It's organized based on the couple major groups of electronic music, and there are some genres that are part of one group, but are linked somehow to another group, and he shows that as well.

Hell, anyone interested in electronic music at all should check it out.

As for Sneaky...

Well, you might like the Alter Boys. Pretty weird mix of music, but I like them (you really need to hear more than just that song to pass judgement on them).

Or maybe Kalmah They have some harsh vocals, but they're a unique mix of speed metal and gothenburg style. If you're not sure about that song, please check out Moon of My Nights. It's easily my favorite song of theirs.

Another band you should check out is Dillinger Escape Plan. They are pretty weird, but they've got some awesome music. One song, Black Bubblegum Is like their take on a pop song, only with cool guitar work, and weird glitch sounds. You may not like the because of how grindcoreish they are (wikipedia calls them experimental mathcore, lol).

I'm not sure what else to mention. Maybe some Candlemass (doom metal) or Carcas (Heartwork or their stuff from Wake Up and Smell the Carcass (songs like edge of Darkness)). Maybe some Trouble. Trouble is "White Metal", religious metal, lol. But they do kick major ass.
This is going in my sig. :)

It is definitely jizz worthy.

Also, Corb Lund is awesome.

Look for In This Moment's newest album. I can't remember what it's called right now. Their older albums were much screamier but, like A7X, their new album has clean vocals. Singer's voice is super hot too. And she is alsp physically amazing.

After reading about them, I'll have to check them out, especially if I can find the stuff it describes as being played over weird drums like Aphex Twin :P

Also, Hiromi Uehara. Fucking amazing Jazz pianist. She also have a progressive rock group called Hiromi's Sonicbloom.
Hiromi Uehara - Sakura Sakura (The ending is absolutely amazing.)
Hiromi Uehara Trio - Love and Laughter (live) Part1
Hiromi Uehara Trio - Love and Laughter (live) Part2
Hiromi's Sonicbloom - Time Difference (live)
