The Music Discussion Thread (No Flaming!)
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:42:04 AM »
Since there's no music forum, and this didn't fit into either one of the artsy forums, I thought it might as well go here.

Anyway, what have you guys been listening to lately?

I've found myself listening to a weird mix of M1dy and Sharpnel, di.fm's Drum and Bass channel, B

I never saw the CD Carrie put in my car's CD player yesterday, but it's some mellow, instrumental band. It's nice music.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

Oh, and I've been listening to somafm.com's stream called Cliqhop, which plays all sorts of weird stuff. I hear The Flashbulb, Prefuse 73, and Boards of Canada fairly regularly. It's all downtempo glitchy stuff. Awesome for sleeping, background music, or for actually listening to, if you enjoy that stuff.

The Offspring, pre-American Idiot Green Day, Fear Factory, Static-X, Serj Tankian, Linkin Park, The Flashbulb, Fort Minor, and Renard are all on my current playlist.  It's a fairly nice variety, I'd say.

Lately I've been listening to Younger Brother's new album (GET IT, it's amazing), Three's new album (because I don't have any of their other stuff), They Might Be Giants, Dream Theater, Mannheim Steamroller and Steve Morse.

If anyone like good hip-hop, try Andre Nickatina. He's from Oakland, and that alone makes him cool. I have also been listening to a lot of Murs lately. He's the guy from living legends.

Hmm, I think I should just make this the Music Discussion Thread.

As far as Hip-Hop goes, has anyone else heard the new Saul Williams album, "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust"? It's absolutely amazing. He even does a NIN-esque cover of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday. It's a great album.

I have been listening to a lot of Black Metal (Darkthrone, Burzum, Abyssic Hate, Silencer) and Death Metal (Deicide, Malevolent Creation, Death, Carcass).  But now I've been listening to Power Metal and Ambient more so again like Angra and Sigur R

I really like Carcass. They were pretty underground, but they pretty much spawned the idea of Technical Death Metal. I've got some stuff by Nortt here, which is Doom/Black Metal. Really slow Black Metal, it's some pretty cool stuff.

I need to download Sigur R

Although when I'm in a mood for it, winnipeg is a frozen shithole is also nice :P

Hahaha, yeah, I need to be in a really weird mood to listen to that album. There's only so much I can take of it, it's just brutal to my ears :)

Well, I listen to M1dy as regular music, so :P

Seaking of M1dy, I just downloaded his discography.. God, Japanese Mathafacka and Speedcore Dandy kick ass. m1dy vs Killingscum -  音圧愚連隊 ~暴走歌謡大全集~ is an AMAZING album.
