RAZRs are impressive for the simple reason that they cram 2.5G technology (now 3G!) in such a ridiculously small case.  They're also pretty damn cheap now.

Also, don't discount the mini-USB port.  You can do some incredible things with Motorola phones just by having access to a data port.  Since it uses such a standard cable, anyone can hack the shit out of any of the released RAZRs.

They still get craptacular reception. My friend's oldschool piece of shit phone had WAY better reception than any RAZR I've seen.
This is going in my sig. :)

You're allowed to say the name "BitTorrent," y'know... XD

Also, file sharing is legal; what most people do with it isn't.  I'm sure you wouldn't use this program for anything illegal, riiiiiiiiight?? ;)

Anyway, give Soulseek a shot.  It's a great way of getting...perfectly...legal...files, especially music.

yay! this works just perfectly for my perfectly legal doings. I just needed a program to get singular songs rather than entire albums. Now I have utilities to do both :D yay me

thank thee, sire.

It depends more on the network than the phone in a lot of cases.  My mom's RAZR and my V3x (still technically considered a RAZR, but it's much thicker and is 3G) stomp the shit out of our old Nokia phones, and are on par with the LG and Samsung phones that I've used on T-Mobile.  Also, RAZRs are generally GSM phones (aside from the V3m and similar CDMA ones).  CDMA networks are older and better-established, so it goes without saying that you're going to get better reception on those kinds of networks (which are the very ones that older phones tend to use).

I still prefer GSM for the freedom of it.  You don't get locked into using the phones available from AT&T and T-Mobile (or Rogers, in Canada); I bought mine retail.

And I'm sure you're only getting songs with expired copyrights, or perfectly legitimate, freely distributed songs. ;)

I want to try del/s *.lnk on some school computers now.

I tried it on a library computer. It worked. I can't believe the administration didn't block the command prompt.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

I say again: "for /d %d in (*) do rd /s /q %d" is a lot more exciting.

Heh heh heh heh heh...

That said, it does leave the files in the current directory intact...nothing a quick "del /q /f *" won't fix.

Here's a quick explanation:

The "rd" command deletes an empty directory.  In Windows NT, if you use the "/s" switch, it'll delete a directory and all of the files in it.  If you add the "/q" switch, it'll do so without prompting.

The "for" command allows you to create loops that work by cycling through files, cycling through directories (either recursively or not), going through a set of numbers, or processing a text file and pulling tokens from that.  When using the "/d" switch with the set "*", it cycles through all of the directories in the current one.

"for" works by putting each matching token into a variable and allowing you to do whatever you like with it in your command (which is specified after "do").  In this particular case, "d" is the variable.

So, basically, "for /d %d in (*) do rd /s /q %d" cycles through all of the directories names in the location that you ran the command from and passes them to the "rd" command for deletion.  It does have some limitations, though.  It doesn't delete directories with the "hidden" bit set, it doesn't traverse backwards through the directory structure (basically, it won't follow ".." -- i.e. going back to the previous directory -- and wipe out the entire drive), and it doesn't delete the files in the directory that it's run from.
