I remember going to this dance in 8th grade. There were a bunch of disposable cameras there for people to use to take pictures. My own curiosity led me to taking one apart. I got shocked in the process, then I saw what shocked me. I charged the capacitor, broke it out of the camera, and went and shocked people. It didn't discharge fully the first time; it was good for about 10 shocks, each less intense than the last. Then, being the nice guy that I was, I showed someone how to do it. He showed a bunch of people how to do it. I have a few burn scars because of this.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

I've seen that page before, I was always kind of curious to try it.

As I was reading I thought "Didn't that also have the potential to backfire, and do so rather painfully..." And then I read the part saying the first time he used it, it backfired into his chest.. lol.

Yes, I can tell by my scars. I only used one capacitor, but eventually all the cameras had been disassembled and charged.

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}

There is one that's more expensive tho...and it's USED.

$99,000
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/800557508-USE/Canon__Super_Telephoto_1200mm_f_5_6L.html

SHIT. O.o

Of course, that type of thing is going way beyond what I'd be using my camera for, but still...SHIT.

Yeah, I actually was taking apart a disposable camera.  I made a coilgun out of it.

Ouch.

Yeah, watch out for those things.  The capacitance in the disposable cameras flash circuitry can potentially kill you.

Lol, nice one. Today's going to be a rather lackluster posting day for me, apparently.

In unrelated news, I'm going to be leaving soon to the place my dad's working for at the moment (well, he's working part time there, and part time at his own company, because the market is kinda slow, and he's having trouble getting work). I'm gonna be going around the machine shop checking things out, because I've never gotten a chance to see what all that stuff is really like in person, and it's good ot know what you're getting into when you go to college. If all goes well today, I'll have a better idea of what I'm going into, or alternately, I'll realize that that sort of job isn't for me, and have to figure out some other idea for college.

EDIT: I'm waitin for my dad to finish up, and I'm on one of the computers at the workplace right now. so far, I'm most interested in PLC programming. PLC programming involves a rather unique logic system using electrical circuits as switches and such. It's used to control many different types of systems. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programmable_logic_controller

What I was introduced to uses Ladder Logic based programming to control the system. The main difference between Ladder Logic and conventional programming is that Ladder Logic is essentially asynchronous. It is a system that is constantly polling itself for any changes and reacting accordingly. Ladder Logic is really complex, but I find that I actually like it. It's programming on a different level than what I'm used to, and I really like that style.

As far as getting into college for that goes, I think I'll likely need to take a corrospondance course and complete a grade 12 math, since I don't have 1 (you aren't required to do math in grade 12, only up to grade 11.) I'll also have to commute to school, since the course isn't available in midland. But I think this would be a great career to get into.

tl;dr: I liked it, PLCs are cool.
