Well, the program is sendmail, but yeah.

Not so much anymore.  exim is used in a lot of places (I believe that's the default in the Debian world and probably others as well) and numerous other solutions exist as well.  sendmail's "market share," if you will, has been on a decline, with software such as exim and Microsoft Exchange have been moving up.

Good point, but on a lot of linux machines, sendmail is default still.

I mean, it's on my My Book (but that's not a typical install :/ It runs BusyBox but it has all the normal commands that you would see, and quite a lot of built in functionality that a BusyBox machine wouldn't have. as well)...
