anyone up for the best fighting game ever?
street fighter 2 rainbow edition
*edit*
starting to enjoy chun more. instead of losing and thinking "i should think of a new character" im more thinking "how can chun tackle that situation". i like the character, she's fun to play, even though she's defensive, i still enjoy using her. i mean I GUESS depending on who im fighting in hdr using gief, ill be a defensive son of a bitch as well.
so i need to work on them combos.
chun main, cammy/gen/adon on the side. this will be more solidified as i play more. never know, main could change again if i like cammy or adon when i get their basics down. gen is not mainable in the current state of the game. unless someone figures something out with him, or the upcoming patch fixes some gen stuff for the better, he's just an alt i play because the character's fun, not a guy i pick to win games.
I WAS PLAYING SOME HDR EARLIER THOUGH. kept running into the same chun player over and over again. he was giving me the beat down, not allowing me to really touch him, but he was jumping at me A LOT. my lariat, jumping normals, standing normals did not work to get him out of the air, so i was losing the first few games we played. then i discovered something.
i can't beat him in the air with my normals, and he jumps at angles i can't beat with standing normals. BUT, if i jump in with a medium punch and meet him in the air as he is jumping at me (im sure a better chun would not jump at a jumping gief, but this guy didn't get it), i pretty much beat anything he has and ground him. when he's grounded, and im next to him, he is dead.
really, if im next to you, and you don't reversal me, you lose the round. MINI PARAGRAPH NOT RELATED TO THIS ONE AND THE NEXT BUT I LIKE THE SOUND OF MY OWN VOICE SO IM TYPING IT ANYWAY color coded for related contentthat was actually one of the things which made zangief a bit harder to learn. people who are good at zoning pretty much eliminate your ability to do damage. when you get up close, you had better be bringing on the pain before they get away again. when i was a newer player, i really couldn't do much. i didn't know how to tick throw, fucked up spd's a lot, and i didn't know shit for combos. now, i don't miss tick throws(ok i do miss them sometimes, im not perfect), i can super, i can mix things up with combos so you don't know when to throw out that reversal, and i can do some damage when i close that distance gap. it's fun. ALTHOUGH, if i do fight one of you, protip. if im jumping at you from the front, ill hit you with "insert air normal here" then ill jab, since im retarded and jumped at you from whatever distance, another jab will whiff, so i just spd. that first jab is the time to reversal me and get my ass off of ye. predictability is one of those things i need work on. im not great, but im pretty confident in my sf2hdr game to being somewhat solid.so i proceeded to win back the number of games i lost before feeling good and stopping to play some sf4. he was pretty solid though, and those games were more or less even. plus, i landed not one, but TWO crossup bodysplash, s lk tick 720's. feelsgoodman, and good games. always nice to fight people who aren't too good where i can't win, and aren't too bad to where i always win.
