i finally did hazama challenge 3

here's a previous example of my fail on said challenge

*edit*

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/sep/26/ssf4-character-usage-numbers-over-4000-matches/

this is quite silly

ryu- 16%
ken- 8%

dictator, akuma, guile- 4%

boxer, chun, blanka, cammy- 3%

the 26 other characters on the roster- 2% and under

least played characters... gen, c viper, and rufus, with rufus being the least played.  (all three characters, yes, even rufus, HARD TO USE PROPERLY unless you are a high level player)

ERRYBODY LOVES THAT GENERIC KARATE MAN WITH LESS PERSONALITY THAN MY WALL.  even ken is rather redeemable as a character, i can't complain about ken at all.  but im sure you can't even put up an argument that ryu is an interesting character.  hell, even my least favorite street fighter, akuma, is more interesting than ryu.

Not even a slight shock, shotos take minimal effort for maximum results. Basically everyone I know plays shotos about as well as their mains, it's sad.

I played through Metro 2033, it was pretty neat. I got a key at PAX and it actually ran surprisingly well on my computer (???), and it enjoyed it for the most part. The ending was really abrupt though, I felt like there ought to have been way more of the game, but oh well. Ranger Mode was damn fun too, I played through the entire game on that, except the stupid amoeba section towards the end, where you're escorting Miller. That part was bullshit on Ranger, you died instantly to anything. :<

Yeah, that was the WORST part of the game. Also I'm really digging Bad Company 2, but the community seems fairly meh, but a good game of Rush is amazingly fun.

!

anyone up for the best fighting game ever?

street fighter 2 rainbow edition

*edit*

starting to enjoy chun more.  instead of losing and thinking "i should think of a new character" im more thinking "how can chun tackle that situation".  i like the character, she's fun to play, even though she's defensive, i still enjoy using her.  i mean I GUESS depending on who im fighting in hdr using gief, ill be a defensive son of a bitch as well.

so i need to work on them combos.

chun main, cammy/gen/adon on the side.  this will be more solidified as i play more.  never know, main could change again if i like cammy or adon when i get their basics down.  gen is not mainable in the current state of the game.  unless someone figures something out with him, or the upcoming patch fixes some gen stuff for the better, he's just an alt i play because the character's fun, not a guy i pick to win games.

I WAS PLAYING SOME HDR EARLIER THOUGH.  kept running into the same chun player over and over again.  he was giving me the beat down, not allowing me to really touch him, but he was jumping at me A LOT.  my lariat, jumping normals, standing normals did not work to get him out of the air, so i was losing the first few games we played.  then i discovered something.

i can't beat him in the air with my normals, and he jumps at angles i can't beat with standing normals.  BUT, if i jump in with a medium punch and meet him in the air as he is jumping at me (im sure a better chun would not jump at a jumping gief, but this guy didn't get it), i pretty much beat anything he has and ground him.  when he's grounded, and im next to him, he is dead.  really, if im next to you, and you don't reversal me, you lose the round.

MINI PARAGRAPH NOT RELATED TO THIS ONE AND THE NEXT BUT I LIKE THE SOUND OF MY OWN VOICE SO IM TYPING IT ANYWAY  color coded for related content

that was actually one of the things which made zangief a bit harder to learn.  people who are good at zoning pretty much eliminate your ability to do damage.  when you get up close, you had better be bringing on the pain before they get away again.  when i was a newer player, i really couldn't do much.  i didn't know how to tick throw, fucked up spd's a lot, and i didn't know shit for combos.  now, i don't miss tick throws(ok i do miss them sometimes, im not perfect), i can super, i can mix things up with combos so you don't know when to throw out that reversal, and i can do some damage when i close that distance gap.  it's fun.  ALTHOUGH, if i do fight one of you, protip.  if im jumping at you from the front, ill hit you with "insert air normal here" then ill jab, since im retarded and jumped at you from whatever distance, another jab will whiff, so i just spd.  that first jab is the time to reversal me and get my ass off of ye.  predictability is one of those things i need work on.  im not great, but im pretty confident in my sf2hdr game to being somewhat solid.

so i proceeded to win back the number of games i lost before feeling good and stopping to play some sf4.  he was pretty solid though, and those games were more or less even.  plus, i landed not one, but TWO crossup bodysplash, s lk tick 720's.  feelsgoodman, and good games.  always nice to fight people who aren't too good where i can't win, and aren't too bad to where i always win.

Shit's awesome, reminds me of a much crazier brawl minus.

I so want this, I love the fact that they added his catchphrases in like every other move.

Started playing Hitman Contracts. So far I'm liking it, not as much as Bloodmoney, but it's still good. The whole reward for getting silent assassin and having a massive room full of guns you can get from missions just seems to egg me on to grab as much shit as possible.

Oh god, sniping in bad company 2 is awesome. There was a few snipers camping a ridge, and I was far as all hell away from them. I see one looking at me and he fires a shot off that glances the rock right next to me. I stand completely out of cover and aim fairly far over his head and fire a shot off, and it connects right smack dab on his face. RIGHT when that happens a bullet from him nails me in the head. Shit was nuts.

So I tried playing TF2, and it ran at a horrible framerate. Anyone else having this problem?

No, but I did see a thread about it on the Steam forums, apparently it's got something to do with antivirus software?

http://cutstuff.net/blog/

We need to get an s.net game of this going, and considering it's a doom 2 mod and the game is literally download and click to play we should be able to do this.

Skulltag mod? By Cutmanmike? Sounds good to me. I've played a lot of his previous work, it's all pretty cool.

Alright, I'm overlooking eggmans recommendations, and I'm going to go with Breath of Fire and more then likely look into Crono Trigger. Oh, and I'm getting advanced wars 2.

Christ Breath of Fire 3 is addicting, and I'm not even sure why. I've just gotten Momo and I can turn into a dragon, shit's ballin.

Got Oblivion, Halo Wars, and Soul Calibur for my 360 lately. Almost done Reach.

Man I love games...
