Just bought Mass Effect 2. So far, it's SO GOOD. It's beautiful, the controls are pretty good, and the storyline is making me want more. I love how much flexibility there is in this game too. It's like a pretty Deus Ex on a spaceship.

Speaking of which, Deus Ex is a game I will be getting around to pretty soon again. Probably my 5th time playing through that good ol' classic.

PC, I'm guessing?

I only have the original L4D, not the second.  If enough people here have it and want to play, I'll spring for it.  I'd love to do some 4-player zombie hunting.  The AI is so braindead that playing single-player is practically infeasible and even 2-players can be a chore.

I sometimes play with Christian and Ulti, but I largely play with people from a steam group I'm with (I never fully play with randoms).

I also just got my BF2 online working, and I can see why fans would be pissed about BC2. It's basically a dumbed down version of BF2.

Just downloaded America's Army 3. Wish I still had my AA1 account info (or that they didn't erase it),  people that have AA2 accounts get like veterans awards or bonuses D: Either way, I'll still check this installment out. I haven't really gotten into an online PC shooter in a while, most of that time has been taken up by Black ops.

I STILL need to get bioshock 2 and Mass effect 2 :(
I wish that cake was a lie. :(

I guess he never figured out what Willis was saying :/

I hear Bioshock 2 was sort of a disappointment, but I really shouldn't talk considering I've yet to even touch the series. As for Mass Effect 2, if you go in expecting a shooter you're going to love it. Really, the RPG elements in ME2 are almost non existent.

Also I guess this belong here, but I'm in love with my G500 already. It's rather comfortable, and I can already notice an improvement while playing BC2 (might just be that I was using a terrible mouse last time, but this is just awesome).

Oh yeah, and buy Monday Night Combat. Shit is great.

More edits bitch, but I bought DoW2 Retribution and I'm enjoying it so far. I was only 30 bucks new and it comes with 5 armies, so I figured why the hell not. I'm genuinely enjoying the campaign so far, the RPG elements compliment it well. I wish I would have more units at a time, but I'm not that far into the mission.

Well, I can't seem to make any progress in DoW2 online. Micro isn't the problem, as this game requires no real micro managing skills, but I can't seem to take control of a field or get to tier 3 fast enough. Maybe it's just 3v3 that's throwing me off for now.

Oh, and I've been able to properly use the AT4 to take down choppers in BC2. I'm not that good, but I've got a grip of it and it's stupidly rewarding.

HAHAHA I'M THE BIGGEST FUCKING NERD HERE.

So the Specialists is crazy good. It bothers me how much I like it after an initial play. There's a ton of guns and a decent amount of customization (scopes, lazer sights, flash lights, silencers) and they all seem to do some fairly different things (guns with stocks can hit with the butt of their rifle, some guns can look down the sights [as best as you can in the HL engine]) and almost all of them can alternate firing modes (with akimbo weapons alternating between firing independently or together). Also all the guns seem fairly viable. Hopefully I can get into an online match.

Oh, and I've run into trouble with MNC. I think the average player is become a lot less shit since the community is shrinking and the game has been out for a while. I don't play that often and I can already notice a decent improvement in the general population. I also noticed how fucking annoying juicing was. If someone juices in front of you and wants you dead, you are. If someone wants to take out your turrets, they will. I had this one support buy juice like 5 times in a row, run into our base, kill a few of us and take down turrets before running and he was literally impossible to stop (he was using the hurt heal gun, so if you ran or fought you would die). I've only been able to stop this with ring outs, as sticking someone who runs twice as fast as they used to is really hard with assault. Game developers need to realize that because you need to do well/get kills to get something doesn't mean it's balanced at all.

and I finally beat the ork campaign in DoW2 Retribution. Really like how the single player is handled, only wish multi didn't take so long to set up.

Man I used to be into The Specialists super fucking hard a few years back, but I'm so out of practice now every time I play it I get my ass handed to me. It's definitely one of the best HL1 mods, and does stuff with the goldsrc engine that I didn't think you could pull off. I really wish I was good at Kung Fu in that game, people who are good at it rape so much face it isn't even funny :(

Been playing Stalker:CoP with PRIPYATAN:ARMS, after giving it a try and shelving it because of the stupid difficulty curve, but now that I've gotten past the impossible early-game stage of having no decent suit and no effective weaponry, it's a hell of a lot of fun. It adds probably the largest array of weaponry in any mod I've seen outside of ARSENAL+OL for SoC, and one-ups most CoP mods (IE SMRTER) by providing unique stats and separate upgrade trees for each gun, which I really like. I'd recommend giving it a shot, if you need an excuse to play Call of Pripyat again and didn't like SMRTER (which I still think is the superior mod, in terms of balance), there's so many damn weapons, hahaha....

I'll need to look into that and Dead Space 2.

Also yeah, a guy went 88 and 20 using mostly kung fu in the specalists. He was a goddamn monster.

dbl pst, but I'm getting Batman Arkham Asylum and Assassins Creed 2, because I feel like I haven't played enough good games from this gen. Suppose I should also look into Bioshock.

Also on a semi related note, anyone here play the Summoner, Magikca, or Bauldors Gate? I finally got into Knights of the old republic and I want some more good old WRPGs. WHICH REMINDS ME, the Witcher 2 looks SOOO GOOOD.

I've played Magicka for a short period, and I've seen a few videos of people playing. It's damned fun if you can get a couple people together, and it's not half bad single player, but it really shines as multiplayer, since you can accidentally kill your own team mates and such. The game is rather unforgiving when you accidentally target a teammate with an attack.

The downside of the game (well, the one that affected me anyway) is that it is not very optimised because it was programmed by so few people, so it runs rather poorly (to say the least) on laptops or computers with weak graphics cards (though it's much less of an issue on desktops, since even a cheap desktop card is usually better than a laptop chip).

Haven't played the other 2.

Lately I've been trying to get back into playing SC2 more often, and I've also been playing Osu!, a fun music game based on Elite Beat Agents, etc. I've installed Lineage2 in anticipation of the private server that is gonna be coming online April 2nd, which is supposed to be running the official server, and is supposed to be one of the best actual servers out there.
This is going in my sig. :)

After playing Osu! on iOS I literally couldn't go back to playing it with a mouse. :x  Touch = win.

Even so, it's a great simulator; very true to the original.

You should let me know about that Lineage server, I've been thinking about picking up a new MMO, and if there's a good L2 server that'd be fun, since I used to play the fuck out of that game, hahah.

I'm planning on being part of the TeamLiquid guild on there when the server goes live. I dunno if I could get you in, but I could try.

So is the stealth class in KotoR supposed to be useless? Every time I see enemies they surpriese me and I end up just having to stab them to death while Carth shoots them.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I bought Arkham Asylum and Lead and Gold. Lead and Gold is having a free weekend on steam, and honestly it's a fairly impressive little game. A bit shallow, but the game is still damn fun. It's basically a class based shooter, and each class has an "aura" that will buff your teammates if you stick together (stuff like better armor, stronger shots, healing, all in that vein). The guns also feel fairly western, and will have a fairly big cone of fire if you try to spam them. My biggest complaint is that the game keeps minimizing to desktop, or I will right or left click and the game will show a still screen until I let go of the click.

I picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum, and despite all of the rave reviews about it, I still am just not interested enough to stop playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Seriously, this is the most entertaining, frantic fighting game I have ever played, and I don't think I'll ever be able to play anything slower ever again. The new Mortal Kombat just looks clunky and dull compared to this game. Obviously, actual fighting game fanatics will be able to point out intricacies that I'm missing, but this game is just so hyperactive that I'm willing to overlook numerous other glaring flaws (complete lack of story mode, almost everything one-player being padding, online matches have frustrating amounts of lag, ragequitter hell not kicking in nearly fast enough, etc, etc)

Also, I love the character balance so far. Sentinel was the only obviously broken character, and he just had a massive health nerf, meaning all kinds of characters are viable right now! Tournaments have had such wild choices as She-Hulk, Spencer, and Haggar, characters that everyone scoffed at when they were announced. Awesome!
