I learned a few things today:

1) It's a 30 minute walk from my apartment to the nearest plaza.
2) My cell phone's stereo headset yields amazing audio clarity and it was a free accessory with the phone.
3) Playing MP3s for an hour rapes my cell phone's battery (down to 1/3 bars).  Yikes.

But anyways, 3 mile walk == I feel great. :D

do that a few times a week and watch the fat fall off.

Not all that much. I used to do 3 or 4 mile walks fairly consistently for a while. I'd walk home from school on the other side of town (takes me something like 30 minutes if I'm going as fast as I can, and it's not too hot out, average between 40 and 45 minutes) and I'd walk nearly every day Monday to Friday. I didn't lose any weight.

Actually, I've only lost weight one way: when my depression lifted in grade 10, or so, shortly after I met my girlfriend, I lost about 30 lbs, dropping from 160 to 130. Now I average about 135 to 145.
This is going in my sig. :)

How much weight you lose really depends on your diet, too. If you consume more calories than you're burning then you probably won't lose weight :|

But that's interesting how you lost all that weight after the depression lifted. I usually hear about people losing weight because they're depressed.

Also, that awesome girl gets here in about an hour :D :D

Heh, nice.

Well, when you're depressed, your metabolism generally slows down, I believe. Also, those people probably aren't eating as much as they would when they were happy. However, I think it's kinda weird, when I lose the weight, I was eating a large poutine most days of the week, which is FULL of fat (about 3x your daily recommended intake), and has some ridiculous amount of calories in it. I kept eating those at the exact same pace over the few months that I lost the weight in.
This is going in my sig. :)

Does it literally fall off?  Because that would be kinda freaky and I'd probably wet myself.

I work out enough that I can eat whatever I want. For the last 5 months or so I've been slowly losing weight. I was about 180 5'10 at the beginning of the year and I'm about 158 5'11 now. Water polo and Brazilian jujitsu FTW.

I really hope that was a joke.

No, it wasn't >_> I'm not very well-versed in television shows. I rarely watch anything, unless it's a cartoon or Monk with my girlfriend or the weather/news.

And I thought I was bad, since I don't have a working Satellite Receiver in the basement, because the upstairs one got fried and my parents took ours.
Now I'm lucky if I manage to watch 1 hour of TV in a week.

Wow, fuck DV tapes, fuck FireWire.  Turns out, my camcorder works just as nicely dumping MPEG4 videos out onto a memory stick.  It saves me a ton of time because I don't have to capture the video off the tape (in real time, might I add) and it's already in a computer-usable format, encoded at very high quality (5 mbps, even).  Best of all, it's new enough to work with Memory Stick Pro sticks, so -- assuming there aren't any software limitations with the device -- I can just stick my 2GB or 4GB MSPro Duo sticks into an adapter and jam it into the camera and I could very well end up being able to capture more video than I could to a tape.

Oh, not to mention that since the camera doesn't have to work the tape motors, it'll save a considerable amount of battery power (which is a GoodThing(TM) since the battery on that thing is practically shot).
