I should install Tor. Would this help on complete web anonymity?

We pressed on. Shortly afterwards, we arrived in a poisonous, post-apocalyptic hell - a sprawling, toxic dumping ground stretching for a mile or two. This is the final resting place for your old TV, computer or mobile phone.

It would help, but you'd lose a ton of speed.  Depending on who you connect through, you could be looking at just slower-than-normal all the way down to slower-than-dial-up.  Definitely not good if you want to do large downloads or torrents (the latter of which is generally considered to be a no-no on the Tor network).

I honestly wouldn't recommend it.  It's a nice concept, but the connection speeds of the contributors are too varied for it to really work well.

son of a...

hrmm..... perhaps I could set up a proxy though my 100mbit webserver ( a real proxy, not http://zakamiro.net/pox :o ) and do shit that way. It's an unmetered connection, so wth why not. just need to find an app and install it, I guess.

I've used squid for such a task.  It works pretty well but it takes a bit of grunt work to get set up.  I don't even remember what I did to get it working, haha.
