Music Gaming Accomplishments

Played some GH3 for the first time in a while last night at the nerd party. I did a pro face-off with someone else in TFF, which was a huge mistake because I was out of practice and could hardly move my hand afterward. It was fun, though, because I wasn't playing GH like I normally do; I was rocking out and deliberately making an ass of myself, and it was a lot of fun. Normally I don't move much while playing, but I felt like putting on a show.

I could do "More Than A Feeling" expert in GH1 while facing away from the TV.  I think that's the only thing I can do in "stealth mode" in any music game.

And yeah, rocking out while playing GH/RB is the only way to play it.

I can still play Knights of Cydonia with a wireless controller while walking around the house so long as I can still hear the music. Also, I finally 4*'d Play With Me in GH80's, so now I've at least 4*'d every song in that game.

iidx gold is kicking my ass, even some of the 9's are giving me a run for my money.  getting an A on this 10* song was enough to boost my spritis, and playing ghostbusters...its just awesome.

I played IIDX on my PS2 for the first time in a while (before I futilly attempted to play IIDX AC on my compy...it doesn't work all that well) and...I improved.

How is it that I can set the controller down for months on end and come back playing better than I did before?

I managed to get something like +100 ex points on Red Zone [h], bumping my grade on it from a blah-tastic C to a B.  I brought up my score on Sphere [h] by a fair amount.  I raised my 321 Stars [a] score by a bit.  I also passed a few more 10s that I couldn't do before.

I need to not play more often.

Passed Kakumei [h] today with Random. I can't fucking do scales in IIDX and for some reason it never occurred to me to turn Random on so I did and I B'ed it first try.

Also, there's an 8 on Gold that I've played twice now that I've AA'ed but still haven't passed. Fucking what the fuck. It's some J-pop bullshit I think and I'm pretty sure it was a revival song.

And I'm about 3 FCs away from the other voiceover guy, but I doubt he could beat the default guy. When he says the AAA line it sounds like Tidal Wave and I lol every time.
