I use a somewhat different tapping system than most people people seem to use.  Everyone seems to use their left index for green and their left middle for red, then the other three with their right hand.  I use my left index for green and my right hand for the rest of the buttons.

Most actual guitarists probably do that too.

And those people you mentioned above it are retarded.
This is going in my sig. :)

Most likely.  Probably depends on how far apart the frets they need to hit are spread apart more than anything else.

Indeed.

GH/RB players are seriously worse than DDR fags.  Instead of bar/no bar arguments you get a bunch of 15-year-olds moaning about how hyperspeed is cheating, tapping is cheating, which game is "better," etc.

Bah, they don't know shit about music games anyway. The timing windows in the GH/RB games is SO much looser than most other music games anyway.

I mean, IIDX has that insane timing, and the fact that it's damn hard to AAA most songs for it. Stepmania/DDR is hard to AAA too much stuff well, and for those players who get that good, there's always something harder. So you can AAA blur with your eyes closed? Try blur speedy mix, or one of the joke songs that are harder than blur.

But GH, well, I think some people have gotten good enough to reach max scores possible on a number of those songs. Sure, you can make your own charts, but there isn't nearly as much community for that as there is for stepmania etc.

RB's timing window is actually fairly tight, maybe moreso on drums than guitar. It just doesn't grade you within a millisecond of when you should be pressing things like IIDX. GH3 is unbelievably loose though.

The whole hyperspeed is a cheat thing came about because Harmonix was fairly dumb and put it in with the Cheats when it should've just been under Options the whole time.

Harmonix does seem to think that it's a cheat, though.  The reason that they left it out of the first Rock Band is because they don't think it fits in with "the experience of playing a music instrument" or some garbage like that.  Someone needs to tell them that fiddling with a plastic guitar or beating on a plastic drum in time with lines that fall from the top of the screen don't exactly capture the feel of playing instruments, either.

Fortunately, they seem to have come to their senses with RB2.  I just hope that it's independently selectable per instrument, because if it doesn't I most likely won't be able to use it when I play with my "band."

Yeah, I noticed that RB seemed tighter than GH, and that in general, the GH games have gotten easier to time since the first.

DDR players had the same arguments when speedmods were added to DDR6th mix-onward...even when they were PART of the options menu...

The one thing that pisses me off is the bullshit they have against using Cmods.

Cmods are good to use depending on what the song is.  I personally like C600.  Speed mods in general are supposed to add some form of a challenge because you are reading stuff at a faster speed.

Cmods make things quite a bit easier, in my opinion.

Playing random shit like Chaos?  Pop on a cmod, and *shazam!* it's easier than a sorority girl on 1/2 price beer night.

The only thing about them that's rough at all is when you suddenly can't use them anymore.  For a long time, I was using C675 on Stepmania.  And when I'd go to the arcades, I couldn't use the mods unless I wanted to be DQ'd for ranking.  So it can be a rough transition if you've been using them for a long time.

I use C700 as well. It gets them to a speed where most files are actually readable. However, I still have trouble with 32nds :/

Three greats and a pad shit on My Summer Love.  On a DDR machine at least.  On a hacked ITG2 cab, it's like seven excellents.  Bahaha.

Yeah, It definitely has some recognizable tracks in it, but I found that it was geared a little too high for me :/
