But yeah, the drive was supposed to be something like 2 hours each way. I think it was more like, 2:30 to 3 each way.

Considering driving to Barrie is supposed to be 30-45 minutes, there's quite a bit difference. Along with the fact that I'm not used to driving on large highways.

Yeah, it does take a while to get used to it.  I've been on so many long road trips that I've pretty much grown very accustomed to it.

Nothing is quite as awful as the one time my family and I drove almost non-stop from Dallas, Texas back to Struthers.  Holy shit.  Nothing quite like sitting in a car for about 20-21 hours.  That was probably one of the worst experiences in my life.

Also, I tried changing the URL a bit, but I didn't know the exact necessary changes, since simply searching "Midland Ontario to Ajax Ontario" will give you the route.

You pretty much have to take the URL and put the from: and to: tags directly in it (i.e. from:midland,ontario+to:ajax,ontario).  For whatever reason it strips those out when it gives you the route.

Well, just typing something like "midland, ontario to ajax, ontario" will give you a route. But searching that from the URL apparently won't.

And somehow chrome was able to remember my waypoints and such when I told it to save the pages and re-open them when I opened it again. But there was no change to the search string (Hell, that URL I posted was the one for my page that had the waypoints.)

And yeah, I was in scouts, and went to PEI for a jamboree in 2001, and that took something like, 22 hours of driving total, over 2 days, so I have some idea of how bad that must have been.

Also:

Walking directions to Struthers, OH

Hah, that's nuts. I would scream non stop for those last 4 hours, that sounds so horrific.

Nothing quite like sitting in a car for about 20-21 hours.

Except maybe sitting on a crowded bus for 28 hours. My church's youth group went on a ski trip, and the trip back was 28 hours. There was no one I wanted to talk to, my laptop's battery ran out 5 hours in, my DS's battery ran out 10 hours in, it was too loud to read, I couldn't do my Rubik's cube in peace, and I couldn't sleep. After this, my mom finally stopped bugging me about going to church. At least for the most part.

Code: [Select]

{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

At least you had something to do.

I didn't have a laptop at the time.  All I had for entertainment was an original GBA with no lights for it (making it completely impossible to use).  Didn't have any books with me.  The seats in that particular car were also leather and the it didn't have working A/C so the leather seats stuck to my sweaty skin, making movements painful.  It was also incredibly humid during the whole trip back.

We also ran out of snacks very early on in the trip.  By the time we got back we were ready to eat our own appendages.

The car was a little messed up.  It has a nasty tendency of not starting if you turned it off on a warm day.  We suspect that the car's key security system (it was one of the first cars that had security chips on the keys) was working against us.

Even besides that, it is a good thing we kept going.  The area that we were originally going to stop at was hit by a horrible tornado the day that we would have left.

Wow. I guess that's one of the situations you kinda have mixed feelings about. The drive sucked total ass, but you weren't hit by a tornado...
